Seasonings/Rubs

Recommended Posts

Since it is now grilling season, I want to get you all's take on your favorite ribs or seasonings you like to use.

One I found, thanks to Harry Soo, Kosmos Killer B

This is phenomenal on pork and chicken.

What else you got?

Your mom likes to be tenderized before seasoning.

Not for ribs but,  try Flat Iron Pepper Company .  They have a three pack that is incredible.

Some I'd recommend:

Uncle Steve's Shake

The Original/Texas one is universal, great on any protein.....The Gator Shake has a citrusy bite, love it too..... I have only seen available at Buc-ee's.

This surprises me.  I find them to be too salty.

I do use the Montreal Steak seasoning on my brisket though as it needs the salt.

I have used them on ribs, burgers, and occasionally chicken. I have a low tolerance for salt and haven’t had any issues.

maybe I do not season as heavily as you

Salt and Pepper should be the correct answer for any and all meats.

I just bought some liquid smoke.  Any suggestions on some decent recipes to try it on.  I might even try some ribs in the Instant Pot as I hear that they are decent.  :dunno:

Still too early to pull out my smoker here.

Haven't used it in a long time.  The only thing I remember is to go lightly with it.

I'm not a fan. Very potent and just leaves a bad taste to everything it touches. (imo)
