At the risk of going posty here, to me every reggae song sounds the same.  It wouldn't surprise me if there were a single band playing a single song for all time.

[Digby] Reminds me of when I played trumpet in a polka band for a summer at a bunch of church bazaars (people back east know this word).  The band leader would call out a song; we'd look it up in our book.  If it wasn't in our book (which happened a surprising number of times) we asked what key it was in, transposed it for trumpet, and played "polka riffs in that key".  It was actually a fun creative exercise, especially since I was a teenager drinking free church beer the whole night.   [/digby]

ETA:  I wanted to clarify that this really happened, but as I typed it it kinda seemed like a Digby-esque story, hence my labels.  :D

Not a big reggae fan but I like Lee Scratch Perry and the Upsetters. I saw Lee Perry in concert twice in the 90s and he was great.

Peter Tosh.  One of the original Wailers.  His Pandora station is pretty good, a lot of Toots and Steel Pulse mixed in there.

I thought Bob Marley was the only reggae artist out there.

I like when The Clash delved into reggae, like “Wrong Em Boyo”

Burning Spear is great.

Desmond Dekker has some great 60's Pop/British reggae

Gregory Issacs has a super smooth voice

Israel Vibration is a top notch roots reggae band
