Proof that Demcorats wants America to fail and enter depressions...

Recommended Posts

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/05/26/2020-election-democrats-281470

In early April, Jason Furman, a top economist in the Obama administration and now a professor at Harvard, was speaking via Zoom to a large bipartisan group of top officials from both parties. The economy had just been shut down, unemployment was spiking and some policymakers were predicting an era worse than the Great Depression. The economic carnage seemed likely to doom President Donald Trump’s chances at reelection.

Furman, tapped to give the opening presentation, looked into his screen of poorly lit boxes of frightened wonks and made a startling claim.

“We are about to see the best economic data we’ve seen in the history of this country,” he said.

The former Cabinet secretaries and Federal Reserve chairs in the Zoom boxes were confused, though some of the Republicans may have been newly relieved and some of the Democrats suddenly concerned.

“Everyone looked puzzled and thought I had misspoken,” Furman said in an interview. Instead of forecasting a prolonged Depression-level economic catastrophe, Furman laid out a detailed case for why the months preceding the November election could offer Trump the chance to brag — truthfully — about the most explosive monthly employment numbers and gross domestic product growth ever.

Since the Zoom call, Furman has been making the same case to anyone who will listen, especially the close-knit network of Democratic wonks who have traversed the Clinton and Obama administrations together, including top members of the Biden campaign.

Furman’s counterintuitive pitch has caused some Democrats, especially Obama alumni, around Washington to panic. “This is my big worry,” said a former Obama White House official who is still close to the former president. Asked about the level of concern among top party officials, he said, “It’s high — high, high, high, high.”

Yes, I think we already know the quality of person that currently typifies left-leaning people today.  Those people who would happily see others harmed to foster a socio-political agenda are sick focking dirtbags.

Rather than celebrate the benefit to all, notably to those historically disenfranchised, in service to your ideology is something we have seen time and again, and we should oppose it at every turn, its evil incarnate....

The media that pushes against economic recovery have no skin in the game. The talking heads of the left wing haven’t lost a paycheck.

The party that’s out of power wants bad circumstances to hurt the party in power? GTFO. Next you’ll tell me politicians are hypocrites and only care about themselves.

Such an odd conspiracy theory.  Do people really think Democrats care enough about Trump being re-elected or not that they'd risk their own jobs, their own 401Ks, their own homes?   If someone said to me in March, would you give $25,000, either from your 401K or your savings, if it would ensure Trump is a one term president, would you do it?, there is no way in hell I'd agree to that.  Trumps sucks as a president and I hope he loses in November, but my savings and retirement plan means way more to me than having a heartless scumbag as president for four more years. That will be over just as quickly as these four years were.  I'm sure 90% of democrats agree with me.

I've been hearing this from the right for two months.  The Dems want the economy to crash to hurt Trump.  It works real well a general -and-moan, but when you think about the fact that a bad economy doesn't just cost Republicans their jobs and houses and savings, you realize what a stupid theory it is.

How does socialism help Republicans?  Your side wants that too.

How does open boarders help Republicans?  Your side wants that too

If Democrats wanted socialism, why have we banded together two straight election cycles to choose a presidential nominee other than Bernie Sanders?

The democratic party is Tammany Hall.

The leadership is filled with globalist elites that want to promise the poor meager gains in exchange for total control and absolute power.  The poor are suckered in to this rotten deal and vote for globalist elites and get meager returns out of it.  Democrat party elites would never actually accept Bernie as their leader.  That's why you see Bernie stickers all over cars but the globalist elite democrats ignore him.

It's because Millenial's are still out numbered.  Let's also be real here, Bernie didn't lose to Hillary, the Clinton power machine screwed him.  Also, Bernie wasn't all that far behind in the primaries.  Bernie, two election cycles in a row was one of the two most popular candidates.  On top of that, when you consider that Warren was a top 3 candidate towards the end, she and Bernie had more cumulative support than Biden did.

It's not that socialism isn't more popular from your party, it's about who's at the forefront that's the question.

Based on the demographics that I hear about your party, it seems like people like you are the minority, hence, your opinion doesn't count.

Bullsh1t. Everyone rallied around Biden because the party does not want to become socialist. The only reason Warren finished third was because waited to drop out. Not because she was ever a contender. The moderate candidates dropped out when they realized they had no chance at winning. Warren did not

Your head is in the sand dude.  Go look at the results in the primaries for CA and MN as examples.  There were still plenty of candidates.  Bernie was #1 in CA and #2 in MN... Bloomberg and Klobuchar were both behind Warren in both.  Also, in both, Bernie and Warren had more support than Biden.

On top of this, 12 years ago, you had what... just Bernie who would be considered a socialist, in government.  Now, you have Bernie, Warren, & The Squad.  How many others?  The count is increasing.  I guess this is a moot point though, now that I think about it.  I've got the impression that you think you're a moderate liberal.  At the current rate of your party, you'll be a Republican in about 10-15 years.

Riversco tried saying that "my side" wants socialism. I proved that no, my side has had a chance to go in that direction and has banned together to reject it both times. Those are facts.

So, what’s the difference between Biden and Bernie, policy wise? You’re never going to answer this,  but it’s fun!

It could very well end up there.  The farther the pendulum swings to the right, the farther it's going to swing back to the left.  That's how it works. That's how it's always worked.

We rejected socialism, twice! We replaced the socialist candidate with a nominee with the same policies as the socialist! PS, you could have  said healthcare if you had a clue. But FYI, Biden is headed in the same direction. You learn stuff by listening and watching and reading. Give it a shot!

The funniest part of debating with you is how you try to divert discussions into a different direction when the current one isn't going so well for you. lol  And how I never allow you to do it because I am far more intelligent than you.  Dude, you are a one trick pony who I figured out years ago.  I responded to someone mistakenly claiming that 'my side' wants socialism. I proved that they just got done rejecting it.  If you want to prove me wrong (like you've been desperately but unsuccessfully trying for years, go prove that the selection of Biden over Bernie wasn't a stance against socialism for the democratic party.  Go Fido.  fetch!

You sir are not paying attention.  From FBG:  Thats number of votes shown.  So you can see "For sure rather have a recession rather than a Trump re-election"

Was more than DOUBLE the next choice.  Your party is filled with people like this.

1. Trump Opponents - Would you rather have a Recession or Trump Re-election?

  • For sure rather have a Recession than Trump Re-election

     78
  • Probably rather have a Recession than Trump Re-election

     29
  • On the fence

     8
  • Probably not rather have a Recession than Trump Re-election

I'm not sure I'd go quite that far. I agree that there are globalist elites who are highly influential in the Democrat party, and I believe that they believe that more government power/control is needed.  They view COVID as an unprecedented opportunity to show that, with federal handouts, unemployment assistance, etc.  To that extent I believe that there are some that want to see the shutdown drag on so that we idiots can see how wonderful the government is at taking care of us.  A quick recovery doesn't help with that.

What I'm not sure of is how much it is a power grab vs. a true belief that most people are stupid and need smart people to take care of them.  It's funny, for me being a conservatard, I attend social events with the type of people who make up the liberal elite, with alums from the extended Ivy council which includes Stanford, Chicago, etc.  My wife went to U of Michigan and won't write that on her badge because it is a public school, despite being top 5-10 in most prestigious disciplines.  But if you went to some obscure private school in New England, you are in the cool crowd.  "Hey Jerry, this is Blake, he is Wesleyan undergrad and Tufts grad!"  Seriously, this is how people get introduced at these events.

These people think that all of you -- including @Observer and the other libs here -- are blithering idiots.  They think that they and their kind need to take care of you.  It's not malevolent or diabolical.  It truly is altruistic.
