Defund the police

Recommended Posts

Disclaimer:  I was late to come around to Trump, didn't vote for him in 2016, however after seeing how radical the left has become I'm fully on board.

He's being weak on this de-fund the police, Chaz / Chop, rioting and looting.   I know its an election year but a civilized society cannot have what I'm seeing.  The peaceful protesting, of course sure, nobody is against peaceful protesting but once it becomes illegal (stopping traffic on highways, vandalism, trespassing,  looting, freaking  Chaz, etc.) the hammer has to drop.  Even if it means losing 2020 election.

It's time to lead, stand up to this nonsense.

Not his fault. This is a city and state problem. Lots to blame Trump for, but this isn’t one.

I was fine with that the first month, wait and see.  Americans should not feel scared or not secure in their own home.  American small business should not feel uncomfortable going back downtown to their business.  People living downtown, America shouldn't feel uneasy about mobs walking around and not having the ability to call the authorities to protect them.

Cities have failed, States have failed.  Leadership is needed.

I agree with this.  CHAZ is solely the result of Democratic rule in Seattle and WA state.  Let them fix the trouble they've allowed to happen.  Shine a light on what happens when libs get their utopia. I feel bad for the residents and business owners in Capitol Hill.  Maybe they'll learn from this and vote for sanity instead of feelings next time.

Even with everything that has happened with the chinavirus and these riots, plus massive unemployment, any republican could beat Biden. Trump is the only one that could lose. That’s how bad the Democrats brand is right now. If not for Trump, the American people would reject all of this.

He could at least be much more vocal about it. Call them out. Threaten to cut or divert federal funding to localities that are governed by people who choose to ignore their duty to their citizens.

I really feel like a lot of people out there are angry, and want someone to lead the fight against this. That would seem to be trumps job.

I think you’re right,  but Trump is a politician now and it’s an election year. It would be better if the president had one six year term. I think it would change a lot of things.

Right, but I don't get how he thinks being largely silent is going to help his election. Those who support BLM hate him. He's just losing support among people who are angry at what is going on.

Is there some large group in the middle of this that I'm not aware of he's courting?

Trump only has control of the military.  He'd have to do something like invoke the insurrection act to really stop it. The democrats are hoping that voters fail to understand this, so democrat leaders in cities and counties allow the illegal vandalism rioting and looting and then blame Trump.

NYC cuts police budget by $1 billion.

I hope every major city in the country does this and they all become ghetto wastelands void of businesses and good citizens.

If he acts and resolves the city and states inability to govern, the voters won’t learn their lesson and will continue to vote Democrat.

He doesn't need to call them out. It is working for him. He need to focus on the big picture on this and not get pulled into city-battles. The Dems there are messing things up on their own and, even if they weren't, he will use it later on. Do you want him trying to tackle Chicago shootings too?

If you want leadership from Trump, I don't see it happening.

At the end of the day, say as much as you like about the causes and the limitations of his office, all of which are true... It looks bad for an incumbent president to have widespread civil unrest going on and nothing being done about it. Fiddling while Rome burns and all of that.

If he's not going to try to fix it (I get why he can't) he needs to squarely put the blame on those who can and aren't.

Hell, could be the center of the whole campaign message... "Do you want all of America to be like Seattle and Minneapolis? Vote for sanity."

The best thing about it is that eventually all that will be left are losers from the left so anytime someone is killed, it will be a good thing for the country.

No, I hope not.

My brother-in-law is a LEO in a major city and I live in a major city. This is my first post in this thread, but I think the defund the police movement is ridiculous. We need to fund the police even more. Maybe if there was less crime there would be less criminals killed by accident.

I am sorry to hear that for you and BIL. Unfortunately, the city councils and nutjobs that congregate in these areas have you outnumbered.

So defunding the police has started. Nice job.  Now what? What’s the mob have in store for us next? Don’t let this movement stop now. How about defunding the federal reserve? Instead of tearing down a statue, how about tearing down the payday loan stores that thrive on ripping poor people off? These idiots spent four years in college and still don’t know who’s really sticking it to them? How about all those rich liberals who live in the former shitholes of Brooklyn? The cops cleared those places out by arresting people of color and SJW’s swooped in and took over when it got nice. The 79 pct in Brooklyn had 70 murders in 1990. Zero last year. So when it got nice POC didn’t get to stay and enjoy the peace. Yeah but, I was there when we tore down that statue of that guy from the olden days. I protested against racism! Then I went back to my million dollar brownstone that a black family once lived in when this place was a shooting gallery. Fock the police!

So did NYC do anything to address more body cameras, changes to police training, community policing, etc.?  You know? The original issues?

The big move was cancelling the academy class in July. Thousand were set to go in.  Body cameras and community policing are already in place. Have been for a while.

There were original issues? I must have missed those. I do assume there's a list of horrors the NYPD is guilty of sitting in Al Sharpton's office that runs as long as his imagination does. He can pull it out at a moment's notice and tell us how awful they are or just make it up as he goes. Same difference.

That horse is clearly racist.  All police horses must now wear big poofy hoof coverings to protect idiots who don't know how to properly approach a horse.

Six Weeks, Six Cities, 600 Murders
In only six weeks, city after city operated by entrenched Democrats have seen a massive expansion in lawlessness, violence, and murder.

The night was black was no use holding back

'Cause I just had to see was someone watching me

In the mist dark BLM figures move and twist

Was all this for real or some kind of hell

Six six six the number of the Beast

Hell and fire was spawned to be released

Torches blazed and sacred chants were praised

As they start to cry hands held to the sky

In the night the fires burning bright

The ritual has begun Satan's work is done

Six six six the number of the beast

Sacrifice is going on tonight

This can't go on I must inform the defunded law

Can this still be real or some crazy dream

But I feel drawn towards the chanting hordes peaceful protestors

They seem to mesmerize me can't avoid their eyes?

Six six six the number of the Beast

Six six six the one for you and me

Of course the natural consequence of pulling back police is a rise in murders within the AA community, I infer that pretty much everyone understood this.  For me its just another example of how much Democrats.Liberals just detest those of African decent.

They gleefully setup scenarios to destroy the families, ensure economic suppression and mass deaths for African Americans......and these people just eat it up.....its the strangest sh!t......

Democrats were smart to advocate more for illegal aliens. Much easier group of people to control. As Biden commented, some blacks are not even acting black anymore and getting a little to flippant for the Democratic Party.

De Blasio is blaming the corona virus and not, you know, less police presence or the "defund the police" mantra.  🙄

The only surprising thing about surging crime now is that people are actually surprised.  How intellectually dishonest can you be?

That white guy who hip checked her needs to get out of there fast. I know he’s probably an SJW,  but he doesn’t know that’s not a shield. He assaulted a black woman. Run.

So now we see some of the great defunding ideas leaking out.  In the eyes of the left, this will be great and will actually produce statistics that are in support of the anti cop crowd...reduced interaction between armed cops and black males.  Hell, I bet thugs with cars full of gangsta sh!t would be chill on a traffic stop by a guy that cant search or arrest.  Non-violent interaction is the goal, right?  Win-win!  Seriously, for those that have never done police patrol,  these traffic stops expose an unbelievable amount of warrants, guns, and drugs.  What the lefties wont tell you is "prepare for more guns, drugs, and thugs on your streets".

Understand that this was a ploy by the radical left to try and goad Trump into sending in troops so they could use that against him. If you recall he kept saying, "US govt at the ready, waiting for the governors or mayors to request assistance". He totally focking schooled their lame asses on that swing and a miss. Eventually in the crappiest location: Seattle, the mayor finally buckled when Trump refused to go in without the 'invite'. The Ds got totally buttfocked on their BS.
