The thing that is ridiculous about all this is, it completely removes intent from the equation.

Was gator bait a racist saying over a century ago? I don't know. Don't really care.

Everyone knows that of the 100k plus screaming gator bait at the stadium on Saturday, exactly zero are advocating feeding black people to alligators.

How many black athletes have rolled through Florida over the years? And not a single one ever said a word about how insulted and afraid they were of their fans wanting to feed them to gators.

It's just a focking game at this point.

Intent doesn't matter at all. If 500,000 combinations of words have all been deemed insensitive and racist, then you must know all of them and refrain from using them.
