Not because they think it's wrong but because Conservatives are citing it since it shows there is no bias:

We were careless when describing the inferences that could be made from our data. This led to the misuse of our article to support the position that the probability of being shot by police did not differ between Black and White Americans (MacDonald, 2019). To be clear, our work does not speak to this issue and should not be used to support such statements. We accordingly issued a correction to rectify this statement (Johnson & Cesario, 2020).

Although our data and statistical approach were valid to estimate the question we actually tested (the race of civilians fatally shot by police), given continued misuse of the article (e.g., MacDonald, 2020) we felt the right decision was to retract the article rather than publish further corrections. We take full responsibility for not being careful enough with the inferences made in our original article, as this directly led to the misunderstanding of our research.

You think I give a sh*t what their woke ass selves say now?  When other woke ass people were criticizing them they defended this paper.  Only now, since conservatives are using it's conclusions, are people misinterpreting it.    One of the people who funded that paper had to step down from his position at MSU because of it.  What I care about is what their paper says, and it says this (FTA):

Quote

no evidence of anti-Black or anti-Hispanic disparities across shootings, and White officers are not more likely to shoot minority civilians than non-White officers

That's kind of the point here.  We're getting to the point where you can't have a discussion about issues such as this, even when you have data and facts backing you up.  Woke culture will come after you until you reverse your position.

The author of the article put their contact emails and phone numbers linked to their names. They are going to learn all about the steps of retracting operating procedures. First change phone numbers, emails first and foremost. These professors aren't too bright. First rule of digging yourself out of a hole; stop digging.

There is plenty of hard data on police shootings.  It’s not hard to find.  In every study the data shows that unarmed blacks are LESS likely to be killed by police than unarmed whites.  The Left just discredits the methodology or the bonafides of the researcher - even if he is a black Liberal Professor at Harvard. https://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jul/11/no-racial-bias-police-shootings-study-harvard-prof/

Remember folks - this isn’t about a search for truth.  It’s about power, and propaganda as a means to achieve what they believe is a noble end.
