I hear people excuse cheating at times saying If you're not cheating, you're not trying. There have been cheaters in sports forever. I never hear anyone excuse referee cheating. Is that where the line is drawn for the people who are OK with players trying to cheat? Or does it just fall into the same category as individuals cheating? 

If this is true, which I am skeptical of, this is pretty shameful on the NFL. Especially since I read the redskins weren't the only team. How could the league allow teams to pay off refs? I don't want to hear any excuse about them knowing if this is true. How do they completely jeopardize the integrity of the league?

I think a lot of people see it differently if you're gaming the system vs corrupting the system.

I have thought the officiating in the NFL has gone downhill quite a bit the past few seasons. I thought the new rules likely played a big part in it, but that may not be the case if this is true.

Honestly, it kind of reminds me of the NBA several years ago when they had Tim Donaghy, the ref who went to prison for taking bets, and surely wasn't the only one. The NBA has never been as well officiated as the NFL, but that period leading up to that, it was especially bad.

Who knows what is going on behind the scenes? It wouldn't surprise me if it stems from the referee lockout in 2012.

What an over reaction by everyone. I heard things like snyder paid the refs and that he was on epsteins black list.

 

Turns out that Denny Green was a dirty old man and so were a lot of the other football people. NONE of which were Snyder.

Yeah. I just want the football games to be played for 16 games for my fantasy football reasons. I don't want to know anything personal about players, coaches, owners, etc. From top to bottom whenever anything personal comes up it's about players being criminals, coaches being bad in some way, owners being whatever the new term of the day is, and I think it was all so much better when there was no mass media. 

It's all like nancy pelosi advertising her ice cream fetish stored in a freezer drawer of her $30,000 refrigerator. Get over yourselves. Let's get on with what people care about. For the NFL, just fvcking play football. For the government, just fvcking stop pushing socialism down our throats.

I can relate.

This is only relevant in the sense that it likely explains why some in the organization have underperformed.

if you cant focus on your job and your job alone because you have other crap to worry about, it hinders your ability to perform one way or another.
