@mmmmm...beer wife and I were in PDX area yesterday on way back from Oregon Coast.  We met up with my wife's brother and sister for lunch near Milwaukie neighborhood in SE Portland.  Over the years we've driven down Powell Blvd many times to head to 205 for the drive back to Seattle.  HOLY SH1T it was like a non-stop tent city with the homeless junkies taking over every one of the small parking lots that line the street.  Rag tag tents and piles and piles of garbage strewn everywhere. Parts of Powell always seemed a bit rough (a few strip clubs, goodwill, etc) but I've never seen it like this.  Focking crazy.  I expect that sh1t downtown so it was surprising to see it in full force out there towards 205.

For the rest of the GC I'm referring to an area well outside of downtown.  Older neighborhoods, but not quite suburbs. It's odd how this stuff gets out of hand once "urban camping" is given the green light.  But hey, it makes the local politicians feel all warm and fuzzy inside since it doesn't affect them personally.
