frank 2,144 Posted July 31, 2020 I just learned this yesterday. I’ve seen a million squirrels, but never saw one eat a pine cone. I just saw two in 24 hours. WTF?

(Giggity) I got a good look at what was left from the first squirrel. I actually picked it up and put it in the garage because I thought it was weird. We went for a walk today and I noticed lots of pine cones on the ground that looked the same. It was on the walk that we saw the second squirrel.

FlyinHeadlock 459 Posted July 31, 2020 I have large pine trees. Never ends. They like the young cones. Big azz mess. These are massive pines, girth is over 9 1/2ft at 5 ft high. Told my neighbor he didn't believe me. Got a measuring tape and let him prove me wrong. He could not. It's a constant battle though. They tear up everything. Garden, side of the house. I had to cut aluminum squares for the corners. They kept knawing on them for some reason.

JustinCharge 2,397 Posted July 31, 2020 I had a cat when I was young that thought it was a dog. Would guard me when I was outside. It would chase mice, rabbits, even dogs. I would see dogs 3x the size of my cat run in fear going YIP YIP YIP! When a squirrel came by, he would ignore it though.

kutulu 1,542 Posted July 31, 2020 As I walked along my journey I thought 'What have I just learned?' In a flash I saw commotion There was movement in these ferns Silently the silence came, was it the end of my world? I shouted out in fear, 'Who's there?' 'It's me, ' said Mr. Squirrel 'I've searched for you all over, now you're found No time to waste. We must find the Preacher Man We must find the P.A. Mase, all my population's dying And we're all in tune to doom Like the Daisy, I need water I need chesnuts to consume' 'Mr. Squirrel, ' I said, 'I'm sorry But the problem can't be solved If there's no one here to help, and no one to get involved Always look to the positive and never drop your head For the water will engulf us if we do not dare to tread So let's tread water'

I look at the base of pine trees for a pile of freshly stripped pine cones when I hunt them. 17hm2 through the eye and the tumble from 80 feet up is awesome
