website promoting "boycott all pro sports"

Recommended Posts

If one were to create a website touting and telling people to cancel subscriptions, stop buying gear, stop playing fantasy sports, stop watching all pro sports, etc, etc etc and have a message board devoted to it as well...

I get that if people are going to do it, they are going to do it on their own, not because a website told them to.

But,IF the website gained traction and notoriety, would anyone "come after you" ?  As far as lawsuits etc?  Would someone try to silence the site?

Do it. But put up a BLM banner and totally confuse them.

Football is too many concussions and brain injuries.

Baseball is ruined by cybermetrics.

Hockey too white.

Basketball, the pay discrepancy between NBA and WNBA players.

Yes. When we finally wipe out white men. Until then, there is plenty.

The grumpy old white men demographic has been quite vocal the last few years.  They've run out of sports to watch, stores to shop at and places they can eat at.  If everyone would just stay off of everyone's yards then we could all get along.

Because it's a mediocre fork and a downright crappy spoon.  This is a utensil that does no one thing well.

My problem is that professional sports are no longer really sports. They are marketing arms for a liberal agenda.

Just frigging play the sport and go about your business.

Exactly. If the players were espousing conservative views the stadiums would probably get burned down by violent leftists/ democrats.

The hypocrisy of the disgruntled/boycott sports fan is as big a joke as that of the BLM protester.

I’m a grumpy young white man who is sick of all the whiny biches who need to be heard and outraged by the latest social media post. STFU, work hard, enjoy time with family and friends and appreciate what you have. So many people are blind to how nice life is compared to prior generations.

This site is the closest thing to social media I partake in.

When I turn on a sporting event and see political and/or social agendas being pushed, I’ll pass. That’s not what I’m tuning in for.

There will be a new white "enlightenment" era but it will take a little while. Then it will be you know what, old white guys were actually kinda good at running governments. Wasn't perfect by any means but women, blacks, hispanics can we just concede this experiment is over.

Hypocrisy? If I don't want to watch something for whatever reason I'm not being hypocritical. Shlt,  I'm not throwing brinks and fire bombs through windows of local businesses and at cops.

I will watch the games. But ONLY if my team is playing and ONLY at Buffalo Wild Wings. And I am definitely NOT going to buy another jersey or ANY tickets!

That’ll learn em. :bandana:

So using or buying less of a product is good for that product? Ok then.

I quit my two FF dynasty leagues this year, one I'd been in 22 years, the other is here at FFT where I was founder/GM.

I don't know how the Tigers are doing. I saw headlines that they lost their first game and I think they won the next two but didn't click. I dunno. Not the first time I ever felt that way, that 119 loss season, I stopped checking in too until the end when thankfully didn't break the 120 loss record. Last year too, I phased out but what's different is that when when this season started, I never phased back in. If MLB, NBA, and NFL want to sh*t on America and promote false narratives, they can do it without me.

I see the NHL is starting up their playoffs. As far as I know, they aren't doing anything out of the usual but since the Wings aren't participating, I can't say I have much enthusiasm at this point. I do owe them a look, I liked all four sports pretty much equally, my opinions shifted (conveniently) of which one was my favorite depending on which Detroit team was doing the best, but from here on in, the NHL is my new favorite sports league by default. i guess Minnesota has a sh*tbag player but overall so far, considering the circumstances, so good.

When woke TV shows premiered over the years:

1.  the first episode often was a ratings smash.
2. The media would trumpet the ratings for the first episode as "proof" that woke TV shows can succeed.
3. The media bashes the people against woke TV shows as losers.
4. Then ratings would start to tail off and wind up in the gutter.
5. The media refuses to discuss the ratings after that first episode.

So far, we are seeing the same pattern with in sports with MLB.  The first week were a ratings hit, the media predictably trumpeted those ratings and also attacked right wingers calling them losers.  Now we are seeing ratings drop.  The season may not last long enough to see if ratings totally collapse though.

I would expect the same pattern of behavior with the NFL.

I really honestly feel done with baseball and basketball. It's like they're not going on, and I'm not curious in the slightest to check in on how the Detroit teams are doing. The NFL is the same, like I said, I just gave up fantasy football, whatever the fock they're doing, they're doing it without me watching. I know about the Washington Football Club's non-name and that's about it.

If I get the itch to play fantasy sports again, it'd be fantasy hockey and I'd try to organize something with you guys in the Geek Club.

I would love to play fantasy hockey next year. It would be a big learning curve for me but I love hockey. But currently really only pay attention to the Blackhawks.

The people boycotting sports and complaining about everyone else are just as bad.  You're all just a bunch of whiny biches.  We all are.  Maybe we all just need to shut up and go back to minding our own business.  It's getting old.

No. We conservatives have to stop keeping our mouths closed and minding our own business with all the shlt going on in this country caused by liberal socialist/anarchists. This is the greatest country in the world and there are a shlt load of people trying to change that. Time to fight back.

You're no different.  They've been saying almost the same thing.  You both think you need to speak out against the other and think your opinion is what is right while everyone else is wrong.  You're both dug into your political beliefs.  Both of you want the best for our country, you just don't agree on what that is.

I firmly believe that what they want is to actually destroy the country.

I have no doubt that you and many others feel that way.  It's wrong but I know you think it's true.  I belief there are people who want to tear it all down but I don't belief those are true Liberals.  There are new groups of extremists that are getting lumped into the group of Liberals and even Conservatives.

Laughable.  Not watching a game and cancel culture and riots and looting and “peaceful” protests are the same I guess.  You people have been on a hysteria tour for 4 years now, and it’s culminated in violence.  It’s the same as turning the channel though.  Clownish.

I wasn't doing a direct comparison of boycotting sports to people rioting.  Go on with projecting your outrage though.
