Is that part of the cirrhosis?  Seems like all of this must be related.

Do you have anyone with you?  @Bert, are you able to keep tabs on him?

Continued thoughts of loving kindness.  🙏

So, update:

Once these guys got done than themselves in the back, they realized that I mean I hope they're anticipating weren't there. So damned if they didn't send me back for the same procedure. And damned if they didn't find five more very large blown veins. Basically doubling.

I guess the good news is they found it.

Bad news is that just adds more to my recovery. And more shi that can randomly blow in any given moment.

Frick.

I don't know the prognosis but it doesn't seem good or like there is much that they can do.  I just want you to know that you are my favorite here and this place won't be even close to the same without your wit and intellect. Thank you for all the times you made me laugh or ask you if you wrote that because it was so focking brilliant.  God bless you Wiff.  I hope you find peace.

Interesting, thanks. So it is related to the cirrhosis. I guess that is  a good thing. :dunno:

It's a little bit crazy. And the story is not over yet. When I had one hundred percent blockage in my coronary artery, they were wondering basically WTF? It's because my blood is a consistency of chicken broth. Really low red white and platelets. Which is likely due to  liver damage. So the same crappy blood that will probably kill me and the same crappy blood that saved my life.

But I don't have your classic cirrhosis symptoms. Other than crappy blood. Which is why they've been checking me for AIDS and or cancer and a bucket load of other things. There's something they haven't found yet.

( boy, talk about throwing you guys a softball...)

Not that I don't have cirrhosis from dumb activities years ago, but they're looking for what's called comorbidities.; reasons why my blood is so bad but my symptoms aren't. If that makes any sense.

Checking for what's called varices. These esophageal bleeds were on their to-do list. But they were afraid to do so because my blood sucks so bad. Same thing with colonoscopy.

Nick one hemorrhoid and my bathroom will look like I murdered a hemophiliac hooker with Ebola in a razor blade Factory.

When I first heard about how the CIA forced recalcitrant prisoners in Iraq to eat by pureeing food and pouring it down their asses via a method called "rectal feeding" or "rectal hydration", I was rather hopeful. Apparently, it's a legitimate way to feed burn victims so that's what got me curious, as it sure seemed to me to be a more pleasant option for consuming my mother-in-law's cooking. I never did look into it too closely, I worried that I couldn't hook up the food bag myself unassisted and I knew that I would be too self conscious to ask somebody to help, so I have continued to eat the slop she serves up in the normal way, and continue to suffer. Her cooking hasn't improved in the slightest in fourteen years and I continue to be envious of those Iraqi POWs in those black sites with tubes up their asses that wouldn't have to eat any food that my MIL prepares.

With your digestive tract a mess from esophagus to stomach, maybe you have some thoughts on rectal feeding.

Also, get better, wiff. Man that story you're telling is a rough read to be sure. i hope there's a way to thread the needle that corrects all the problems without exacerbating the other ones.

I think this isn't a good sign.

They prescribed oxy. Every 4 hours.

You remember oxycodone don't you? Darling of the opiod crisis?

I've been trying to get hydrocodone for a really good valid reason and Docs run away screaming because of the lawsuits.

My dad toward the end had a coffee cup filled with preloaded syringes of morphine. You know that wasn't a good sign. They weren't exactly worried about addiction.

Huh. Had my first one. Finally there's something that Rush Limblob and I agree with. 👍

I’ve got oxy every 4 hours (5 mg), but I’ve moved to just taking it at night before bed, and maybe once during the night.  Sticking with Tylenol during the day.

Sorry to hear you are still in there.  Are they just monitoring you at this point? You said something about a transfusion?

Cut that shite man.  You are good people; I’ve always been impressed with how you picked up and moved to CO to take care of your family.  Do you have anyone with you now?  Either way, you’ve got this bored pulling for you as well.  Rest well tonight my friend.

True that. He does. You do too, wiff. See this through. Granted all your updates suck and are never reassuring, but maybe your prognosis and your health improve anyway.

I wonder this too.  Hopefully, he does.  Also, I'm surprised they let him out unless he's made a giant turn for the better.

Hey @wiffleball, are you hanging in there buddy?  Check in if you get the chance.

Some pretty gross days. A couple of surgeries. Transfusions. Couple days of really fun drugs.

If anybody has ever "swallowed wrong"? That's what every single swallow feels like right now. Even melted ice cream.

But I went back to the jobs yesterday and got in 15. Start work again here pretty soon.

There's a respite program that would work great.  Would have been the smart move. But I'm not a smart guy. And I would have had to quit my jobs. And, blow that.

Thanks for the kind words though. Especially you Jerry. What the hell?  You got enough on your plate.

Be good to yourselves.

And remember what the Dalai Lama said:

When in doubt, tug it out.

So, kind of seems like they're slow playing the severity of things. I mean, when you factor out the chicken littles.

Literally 20 hours before I was admitted, I was told by one specialist that she has clients like me that have been around for years.

Fast forward a week and the slow drip drip drip of 30 to 50% of people who present like I did at the ER don't make it.

10 days later, well, the odds of a recurrence are...

Then days later, well mortality rates for 1 year 3 years and 5 years are...

STFUP already.

I'm not exactly a great patient. I think they fear that if they tell me everything all at once I'll rabbit.

Yeah, so by all means, give me a slow IV drip of bad news, restrictions, and bulshit you want me to do and not do, specialists and counselors and  procedures you want me to see and do. All the while implying it probably won't matter anyway. Yeah, that's a good plan.

Gave a copy of my living will / DNR to my boss/ company owner after we closed tonight.

I prefaced it by saying you don't have to do anything or decide anything or say anything, but I spend more time here than anywhere else so if you could just keep this in my file...

Her: you're not afraid that you're going to...

Me: (smiling) oh hell no. But I'm an Accountant by trade. We file paperwork before we take a dump.

Her: nervous laugh.

I don't know if it's the right move or not. But I've seen it before where dr. X affiliated with Hospital number one has the paperwork and ambulance company takes guy to hospital number two.

Hopefully thats one less hassle. Hoping to make sure that there's at least 8 executed copies distributed among the two major hospitals and Affiliated doctors and whatnot by end of week.

It's not like I got my wife and kids to pull that s*** out of the file cabinet should the need arise.

Just about sick of it all. Freaking retarded trying to work two jobs and Squeeze in doctor's appointments and procedures and whatnot during business hours.

Flop it.

Are you working two jobs because you need the money or just to try to stay busy?

Also, do you have kids?  I'm assuming from what you wrote that you don't.

I love the jobs. Need the money. Love my bosses. Love what I do. And Jesus, 5 days doing nothing in the hospital had me climbing the walls. Hell, 12 hours did that.

No kids.

There's a restaurant about a block away from my work. They make the best grits. And I lived 20 years in the south. The owner is this incredibly hot MILF w legs for days and a beautiful heart. I knew her before, but She's friends with my boss. And I think my boss has told her stuff about me.

The Grits at her restaurant are what's been keeping me alive. About the only thing that I can eat. And more often than not they don't even charge me.

Really sweet freaking gesture.

She even came to my work today and give me a big to-go container of grits with  this amazing remoulade sauce. And the most amazing hug I've had in years.

( boobies: firm perky Bs.)

So, there's an upside...

You have some siblings? If I remember correctly you were bitching about them because they did not help with your mom?
