Hows Wentz looking ?

Who would have guessed 3 years ago, Ryan Tanthehill would have been a MUCH better QB than Wentz? Would have been laughed out of the building.

From what I understand, Carson Wentz has very poor practice habits, is lazy and doesn't really break down film well or at all.  When Wentz had success, he had someone riding his butt after EVERY drive.  In his MVP-caliber year, he had John Defilippo constantly mentoring him all day. But Defilippo left the team.  In 2019, Wentz had backup QB Josh McCown constantly mentoring him and telling him what to do after every single possession, and his performance was pretty good.  In 2020, McCown is gone and there is absolutely no-one working with Wentz at the level he needs.  So he is increasingly lost out there.

Also, Carson Wentz may just have an incredible passion for hunting and is losing interest in the game of NFL football.  He goes on hunting podcasts and Carson Wentz has a show on the Outdoor Channel called Wentz bros Outdoors.

Wentz will probably take his millions and disappear for a lifetime behind a deer blind in North Dakota instead of getting tackled by huge angry men.

Scott Mitchell. Got paid and “poof” he was gone. And Sanders can’t catch. Stop throwing him the ball.

Wentz is gonna take out a billboard on I-95 in Philly of him holding a bald eagle he just shot next year.

That is the part he enjoys. Being under a pile of big burly men

Just shows what can happen when a good QB has a good team/coaching, doesn't it?

Rivers is a UFA after the season.  I can see the Colts trading for Wentz.

If the Colts would deal a round 2-3 pick for Wentz the Eagles would have to consider it just for cap relief.

Next two games for Philly are Packers and Saints. Assuming both are losses they’ll be 3-9-1. Eagles should start Hurts for the last three just to see what they have. Philly will be in position to draft a franchise QB next year.

I was wrong about Newton and Murray and a few others, but I think Hurtz won't be good.

I saw last night that if Wentz is cut, he counts towards $59M against the cap.  That's insane.

A second rounder and take on that contract with the salary cap going down? Yeah, ok. This isn’t trading Pokémon cards comic book store guy. Conditional 3rd rounder and eat part of the contract. That’s the best that can happen.

Watching this game vs. Seattle, oof he looks bad.  Mid way thru the second he has 4 yards.  Luckily my opponent has him, and I have Wilson and Metcalf.  :D

Wentz scored more than Wilson.

I still have a chance of winning if PITT ever plays and Diontae Johnson has a big game, but sheesh.  :wall:

They are just a bad football team.  Bad Coaching, bad QB play, lack of talent.  That franchise is a focking dumpster fire.

There is no way he gets cut. The Eagles should consider trading him if the Colts are willing to take on his deal.

They should also give Hurts a few starts to decide whether they need to go QB in Round 1. Hurts is only on a four year deal worth about $6m which is significantly lower than many backups.

I just explained this to you. Wentz was younger and coming off an MVP caliber year. Foles had already washed out in multiple stops before coming back to Philly.

GM’s make decisions based on the info they have at the time without knowing what’s going to happen 2-3 years down the road.

As a GM, you're supposed to know what's going to happen.  Not knowing gets you fired.

Howie Roseman is going to get fired for many other bad moves. If Wentz is done I still stand by the decision to extend him even though it didn’t work out. The other option was giving Foles a long term deal and the Jags just fired the GM who did that.

The chocies weren't sign either Wentz or Foles.  Wentz had two years left on his rookie contract when they gave him an extension.  He outsmarted himself.  He signed Wentz to a cheaper deal thinking his value was going to go up.   A good GM would've recognized that Frank Reich was the key and made sure they kept him and/or would've waited a year for the Wentz extension.

Eli didn’t get an extension until after he won a Super Bowl and he had more success than Wentz did before that.   That’s a big reason they won 2 superbowls. Tiki retiring and getting rid of Shockey also helped.

No GM is going to talk his offensive coordinator out of taking a head coaching job and Wentz played well enough last year where he would have gotten extended anyway.

Good point, they jumped the gun. SF did the same thing with Jimmy G though, I still agree with it. Wasn't a rookie deal but, they went early.

I can’t recall a regression like this before. Wentz looked great and was a popular dark horse mvp pick for people looking at longer odds. Then he started getting hurt more and now is just bad.

How was he supposed to afford taking high priced hookers to dinner?

This isn't really true.  He tore his ACL in 2017.  Because Foles sucked early 2018, they brought back Wentz too early and the result got him hurt again, but he wasn't pulled until after 11 games.  Even still, in those 11 games he had a passer rating of over 100 and comp % over 69% and his QBR had him 12th.  He also wasn't a dark horse MVP pick in 2018.  And really, since the ACL injury and coming back in Week 3 of the 2018 season, Wentz has played in 38 of the last 41 games and the last 27.

Also, if you want to use QBR as some kind of standard, last year, Wentz was 11th in the NFL.  If you want to go by NFL.com's QB Index, Wentz was 10th last year.  If you want to make the argument that Wentz is bad now, fine.   He's having a bad year, but by all the metrics, Wentz was a QB that ranked in the top third of the league as recently as last year.

Ok, cool.  I didn't hear about that.  I remember there being something about him dating a porno chick.  Not sure what happened with that because honestly, I don't care who people date.  As long you (in general... not just Jimmy G.), show up on Sunday and do your job.

I find it funny that nobody mentions the pron skank that Watson was banging.  Jimmy G was beat up pretty good for making that decision, I really don't give a shlt but, follow plenty of 9ers news accounts etc.  Nobody would dare say anything about Watson though, focked up double standard.

Lets not forget that Pederson is calling the plays and he sucks at everything. There is pressure on him to allow someone else to call the plays. Need to see if receivers can run routes that actually getting them open instead of the defenders knows exactly what the route is. The OL is a major problem but even when he has time, no one is running wide open like other teams. That's the sign of suckage as a playcaller.

Eagles winning the super bowl with Pedo/Foles is a bigger shock than Buster Douglas

Forget the fact that he won't even attempt to establish a running game with a QB that can't read a defense.
