I've gone back and forth on this quite a few times.  And most recently, I decided I would skip the Presidential race and just "select all" when it comes to the republican ticket.

However, I again am changing my stance.  Right now, as much as it pains me, I am going to vote for Biden.   And to be honest it's mostly because I am sick of Trump and his schtick and I'm embarrassed by his behavior daily.  Pence kind of solidified that for me.  He reminded me of what I have always believed a President should be.   I understand much of it is optics, and I m aware that this could be a vote for Kamala, but I just can't with the Donald.

Every other vote on the ticket is an R for me, but not that one.

God I hate all of these candidates.  Everyone sucks.

But you can't vote for Trump  because of mean tweets. Smh

I agree with everything except your faulty conclusion. You don’t have to chose either of them.

One of them is going to be president sadly. So as a country, we will choose one of them. Now yeah, you don't have to play, but it doesn't change the game.

A vote for Biden/Harris and BLM and antifa go way into the background.  Not having a white supremacist as our president will calm things down quite a bit.  Although I imagine our good friends the neo--nazis/proud boys/white nationalists won't be on their best behavior.

Bull crap. To call Trump a white supremacist is just hackery of a ridiculous level.

And it ain't the proud boys or these elusive mythical neo nazis that were running around burning and looting cities. That would be the black supremacists.

That's fine. I think Trump has done a great job as president. His achievements have been numerous for american and he has brought historical peace to areas that haven't seen it in decades.

Nobody says Trump is a refined statesmen, but maybe that's what we need.

He's done a lot of things I like (China policy, attempts on immigration, other things.)

Hes done some I don't (typical republican deregulation and tax cuts for the rich stuff).

But part of the job is being a leader in a crisis. That's a huge part of the job actually. And frankly, he sucked with covid (I'm not talking about what he did or didn't do, I'm talking about his rhetoric and leadership) and was a complete no show with the riots except for some very badly executed political theater.

And yes, I acknowledge that no matter what he says or does, the media and opposition are going to make him out to be a racist and whatnot, and that the riots were completely ginned up by the left to make him look bad, just like in 2016.

The bottom line is our democracy is broken beyond repair. We are living in the times leading to the fall.

IMO, this is all shady as fock.

Not the 25th amendment itself, but the constant trying to circumvent the process so they "win."

Biden is a Trojan Horse for the radical left.  How much more obvious is it?  Trump is an idiotic buffoon, but is currently the best wall against the radical left.  Think further down the road than 4 years.

For months you and your cronies have been trying to spread the narrative that Biden is senile.  We see the cute videos of him forgetting a word or mentioning the wrong town. And maybe the criticism is fair and the message is getting through and voters will choose to elect Trump.

But if Biden wins, and you're generally concerned that he's slipping mentally, isn't it comforting to know that the Dems have measures in place to replace him?   You guys are sending mixed messages. Either he's too nuts to be president or he isn't.

Stop the Electoral College

16 year olds should vote

Lets change D.C. to state.

Add SC Justices

It really is crazy, they literally lost one Presidential election so now they want to change the whole system via a temper tantrum power grab.

P.R. and US Virgin Islands will be states too.

Absolutely doi away with electoral college.  One man-one vote.

I haven't heard anything about lowering voting age. I don't think that's going to happen.

Great idea to get rid of the electoral college. Let all the uneducated, violent, unmotivated to work, strain on society be allowed to determine a recurring  racist liberal socialist president year after year. Venezuela, here we come.

Brilliant.

Yep, we are just very fortunate that the electoral college exists to avoid situations like that...  I can't imagine how awful this country would have been if Gore won in 2000...  Of course if Gore had won, then we probably wouldn't have had Obama dividing the country like he did...

Doesn't matter anyway. Once DC, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands are states, with their Democratic Senators, the white nationalist party will become powerless.

I didn’t read this thread at all, but I wanted to comment on this.  Basically I think that the attitude you have here is the reason Trump will lose.

Back in 2004 I was confident about W winning re-election because of what I called the “my mom” effect.  My mom grew up in a strong union area of northeast PA, always voted Dem.  But she told me that election that she just couldn’t get herself to vote for Kerry; we were at war, and he seemed not strong.  I thought hmm, I bet there are a lot of people, particularly women, who feel this way.  I can’t say that was the reason but we know the result.

Fast forward, about 10 days before my surgery I spent the weekend with my brother in Prescott AZ.  He’s kinda centrist or maybe left leaning but not into politics so we rarely discuss it.  But over breakfast he asked me if I was a Trump fan.  I said well, I wouldn’t say I’m a huge fan but I like a lot of what he has done and Biden’s brain is mush so... anyway, he responded that he just can’t stand how un-presidential Trump is; he is a buffoon and an embarrassment and he would rather elect a rock than Trump.  This is probably more political words we’ve exchanged than in our entire lives combined.

Anyway, I had meant to post it here as the “my brother” effect (which now I’ll amend to the “my brother and supermike80” effect) but I got sidetracked with everything.  Basically I think that there are a lot of folks like you two out there, and that will give us a Weekend at Joe’s presidency.

Why do people like your brother, who don't know what's going on the country, feel the need to vote? That's extremely irresponsible.

Why shouldn’t he vote?  He’s intelligent, makes good money, pays taxes, and is going to cast his vote because Trump is an embarrassing buffoon.  Which he is.  I don’t see why he shouldn’t get a vote.  :dunno:

He has the right to vote. And may he be the greatest guy in the world. Of course. But there are consequences to others when you vote based upon personality and not on policy.

Trump is not a buffoon. He handles international politics like no other president ever has. He fights for the people who voted him into office. I don't care if someone doesn't like his personality. Vote for the right thing for this country. Nothing else. The liberal agenda is f*cking out of control.

Trump said he was going to drain the swamp. The left going bat ass crazy is part of the process. It's working. He just needs 4 more years.

People won’t vote for Trump because he has no decorum, but other people wouldn’t vote for Pence because he has no personality. See why what the candidate looks like and acts like shouldn’t matter? Policy is whats important.

Agreed. Jerry, you make it sound like your brother has no clue why he’s voting for Biden, other than orange man mean.

When voting, you should have a desired result in mind. Where do you want that person to take the country and/or how will that person becoming president affect you personally? If “being presidential” is your only desired result, then I guess someone other than Trump is your candidate.

A buddy of mine and I were talking about this last night. Our best coaches in sports growing up were the asssholes who worked us the hardest and had the highest expectations. They didn’t give a shitt about our feelings. They wanted us to win. There was no, “It’s okay Johnny, you don’t have to run anymore if you’re tired.”

On a similar note, my company’s President can be a major doosh....much like Trump. At the end of the day, he has the company’s best interest in mind. If you fock up, you’re held accountable and your feelings don’t matter. Fortunately, our company doesn’t consist of a bunch of whiny poosays. We all understand where he’s coming from and respect him. The company is also extremely successful.

He is only voting for Trump because OMB.  Like supermike.  I’m not agreeing with this approach, but I suspect a lot of people have this opinion, hence why I am positing that this will be the downfall of Trump.  Don’t shoot the messenger.

I will also posit though, and I have no data to support it, it is just a theory:  the far left has basically said that they will continue to riot and loot until the bad nazi satan Trump is out of office.  I believe that a lot of people on the more center left think “alright already, let’s just cave and get Trump out so that the animals will go back into their cages and we can get back to normal.”

I will also say:  with Obama, we elected a person with virtually no experience except as a community organizer (whatever he actually did there besides pontificate) and a one-term senator who voted “present”.  And the country survived.  Then we doubled down and elected a reality show real estate narcissist.  He did even better IMO.  My point is that the office of POTUS can survive seemingly unqualified people.

Here's the problem with that:  The animals won't go back in their cages.  Once they see that they have the influence to control what the left does, it will be more riots, looting, arson and murder.

It's going to be a type of reinforcement:  Burn, Loot and Murder = you get your way.  You think they'll stop after seeing that it works?  They'll do it to the Democrats to push them even further left until they've reached the Communist Utopia they strive for.

The only way to deal with wild, rabid animals is to put them down - fast and hard.

“If we just let Hitler have Poland....”. The mob has power. Power doesn’t stop until it’s powerless. Voting Biden to stop the current political violence will not work. The second they hear “no” or are confronted they will push back even harder.

I read an article the other day that really focused on how erratic Trump has been these last couple of weeks and the current poll numbers that show him way down. Some of the article focused on how people are just exhausted with Trump (Link).

I think that's the perfect way to describe the Trump presidency. It's just focking exhausting. It's so unnecessary too. If he just acted like a somewhat normal human being and pushed through all of the same policies, I bet he wins re-election. Its been mentioned here many times that his policies haven't been bad, but people are just so tired of having a child as a President.

Oh, I agree.

In fact, my timeout at FBG was related to this topic.  I said that the left views Antifa as wild feral animals who can’t be controlled, and their strategy is to hope they tire out. Apparently this rankled a feather and somebody reported me.  That Clayton idiot then banned me for calling people names.  Clearly grammar isn’t his strong suit, because I didn’t do that.  It reminded me of when Rush said that the media gives McNabb a pass because he is black.  Simpletons converted that to “Rush said McNabb isn’t good because he is black.”  Umm, no...

Trump’s argument that the out of control protests happening on his watch will get even worse under Biden is kind of odd. Trump says it’s because the mayors won’t work with him. What does it say about Trump’s leadership that nobody wants to work with him?
