2 potential games cancelled for covid 19

Recommended Posts

Broncos and vikes both had players test positive today. If either team has any positive tests tomorrow their games will have to be rescheduled. This is the second positive tests this week for the vikes.

Would effect the broncos, the Packers , the chargers and vikes players. Plan accordingly.

I haven't seen any reports mention that either game is in any jeopardy.  Just that one guy on each team I never heard of tested positive. Seems like business as usual..

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports a Broncos offensive lineman and Vikings linebacker tested positive for COVID-19.

This comes after the Broncos placed OL coach Mike Munchak under COVID-19 protocols Thursday. It's the second player case for the Vikings, who sent CB Cameron Dantzler to the reserve/COVID-19 list earlier this week. Both teams will need no new positive tests over the next two days for their games to be played.

Right you got that from rotoworld. The top part in bold is the only thing Schefter said. I am not sure that another positive test means the game is cancelled. That is just roto’s selective editorializing...

Denver homer here.....hearing that they could be without 3 starting OL for the game. Doesn't sound like it will get canceled, just next man up philosophy.

If they don't have 2 consecutive days of clear tests the games will be canceled/ rescheduled That's what the nfl has said all year.

There is a major difference between rescheduled to mon or Tuesday and cancelled and moved to a different week. Your headline is misleading...

It's not. The vikes have had 2 players this week test positive. If they have another test positive in the next day or 2 the game will very likely be canceled. I'm not saying they will be but you should be prepared based off the fact were this close and they are still having positive cases. Headline even say potential.

Maybe that a what happens but none of the reporters are saying that. In the past Schefter or whoever would report if a game was in doubt. No one is reporting that. Your only source towards cancellation is Rotoworld. I’ll prepare when an actual reporter gives reason to do so...

Phony positives like always I’m sure, nothing to see here most likely.

Like Ryquell Armstead's phony positive?

Wave the white flag on this.  You're not winning any hearts and minds with the BS.

,Half of being good at fantasy football is being able to read the tea leaves. This year even more than any because of the threat of covid 19. It's just a possibility but one that should be taken seriously and if you have the heads up you can get the waiver wire first to replace a player that might be effected by the games not being played. How is that not making sense? I'm absolutely not trying to sound like chicken little.

Surrender on what? Almost all the positives end up false, this isn’t a theory or debate, it’s fact. Not trying to win anything. AE stead has been the one and only player actually sick. Cam is fine that was phony, the rest all phony except Zeke who got over it before season started. COVID is bad for about 1% of the people who get it, Armstead is that 1%.

Yes it always makes sense to be prepared, which is a different argument then a couple of games are in jeopardy of being cancelled. Based on the reporting I’m much more concerned about the wind expected in GB and Chicago then I am about #fakenews...

You need to move on from this narrative. It never ages well.

It should be noted that the CB got put on the list, but there was no announcement of a positive test. So it's entirely possible he was in close contact with someone who tested positive, but hasn't tested positive himself.

Most positives in the nfl are fake- fact, Armstead is among the only players actually sick- fact, Cam isn’t sick and wasnt- fact, Zeke had it- fact, 1% of COVID is dangerous- fact backed up by cdc. Facts aren’t tin foil hat stuff just because you don’t want to believe them. 😂

The Broncos had no new positive COVID-19 tests on Saturday.

Denver had no players or coaches that were high-risk close contacts to RG Graham Glasgow (reserve/COVID-19). It means they'll have RT Demar Dotson and backup RG Austin Schlottmann for a spot start Sunday. The Broncos' Week 8 game against the Chargers remains on as scheduled.

The original intent of this thread appears to be a ‘head’s up’. Debate over details aside, this is appreciated.

Do we really need a thread with a misleading headline every time a player tests positive? A NY Giants player tested positive earlier in the week but no thread about a potential cancelled game was started. If an actual reporter using sources reports a game is in jeopardy then it is threadworthy, like back a few weeks ago when games were actually changed...

I think we should just assume that all games are in jeopardy this season, and only post when we know for sure that a game will be held as scheduled.

But speculating and facilitating fake news makes the World go round.

What do you mean by “fake”?  False positive, or asymptomatic?  There’s a big difference.  Yes, both of those exist, but it’s less than 99%.   Yes, we know young athletes are at lower risk, but it’s not no risk.

Even in the NFL, while maybe not your definition of “dangerous,” Mike Vrabel said multiple players had flu-like symptoms - https://sports.yahoo.com/mike-vrabel-players-tested-positive-160047136.html

A D2 college player died (yes he was a big dude) -https://sports.yahoo.com/amphtml/cal-u-of-pa-player-jamain-stephens-jr-died-from-a-blood-clot-in-his-heart-after-contracting-covid-19-174117554.html

The St. Louis Cardinals apparently had multiple players go to the emergency room with it - https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/st-louis-cardinals-manager-says-covid-19-outbreak-has-resulted-in-a-few-visits-to-emergency-room/amp/

False positives. Like they test positive but then test negative multiple times meaning the positive was bogus. Not the magical asymptomatic thing.

Oh ok.  Yeah false positives definitely happen, but I definitely wouldn’t say that’s what “most” of them are
