TimHauck 1,799 Posted November 22, 2020 Has anyone from Belichick’s “tree” actually had success as an NFL HC? Off the top of my head Vrabel has probably done the best and I’m not sure he really counts since he was only a player

cmh6476 751 Posted November 23, 2020 If I were a guy like Eric Bienemy, you have to realize that a coach can only do so much. He, along with other head coaches waiting in the wings should want to be sure the front office is going to do something to get them talent on the field they can win with. Scouting and personnel decisions make just as much difference, if not more than any head coach can. Teams like the Texans, Jets, and Lions need a different approach with talent acquisition as well. Good point, and definitely agree that you don't want to head into a can't win situation. But if it's your first gig, you get a 5 year, good money deal. Already have at least a QB you think you'd be happy with. Or have a high pick, so you can draft your QB. I'd think you'd have to jump at the offer. If your ultimate goal is to be head coach.
