You should take a simple economics class and read up on oil and gas.

The low gas prices you've trumpeted meant that mass layoffs occurred in the industry. Drilling slowed, rigs got stacked and people were out of work.

Low gas prices are not an indicator of good health in that industry.

In the past, when OPEC flooded the market, gas prices dropped. When it cut off the supply, gas prices skyrocketed. The latter happened in the 1970s, and Americans waited in long lines to pay relatively high prices for gas. The Saudis flooded the market under the Clownzo administration, which drove down prices.

These are facts.

Last year, COVID resulted in less travel and people working from home, meaning the demand for gas plummeted. Now people are going back to work, people are traveling and people are moving around, creating more demand, which means higher prices. Not only that, but we recently had an insane winter storm that resulted in more energy consumption, meaning demand, resulting in higher prices. 

If oil drops below $50 a barrel, drilling and production take a hit.

The highest gas prices we've ever seen were under a Republican administration.

I'm fine with paying $3 a gallon to ensure that our hard-working, God-loving American oilfield workers with families to feed stay employed.

You don't seem to care about that.
