The ongoing sh1t show that is Donald Trump’s ungraceful exit doesn’t help the GOP candidates, though I imagine the impact will ultimately be minimal.

As much as I want to see Warnock and Ossoff defeat Corrupt Robotic Kelly and Dirty David next week, cause the country is always worse off as a whole with the Repubs controlling the Senate, I still think there will be just enough country bumpkins to show up on election day to squeak this out. The redneck hillbilly uneducated white trash, which is the majority in the rural racist parts of that state, should have a slight edge in turnout. While it's great to hear reports of the Dems being up in early and mail voting compared to two months ago in a tight win for Biden, I would imagine it'll be the exact same for the Repubs and they only need to pull out one of the two races. It's going to be hard to win three state wide races in the deep south in the same election cycle. All of the Jim Bob's and Betty Ann's will show up in their matching camouflage outfits to stop the Dems from having control of all of DC. And then they will return to watching their conspiracy theory networks and buy into nothing but the most pathetic blatant misinformation on the planet. I am sure the next big story is Obama ran a stop sign in 1984 and Biden has known about it for 12 years.

Trump's political instincts are extremely strong.  I'm pretty sure he understands that if he does NOT go to such extremes, someone far far more dangerous is going to pick up that banner and capture the hearts and minds of the right wing revolt.  If Trump didn't challenge the election results with such vigor, I think the right wing would have revolt inside of a week of the election.  Trump is basically keeping what is left of the nation together by a few threads by mollifying the crowd that knows the election is a fraud.

The republicans have nothing because they lost the war. All they have to offer is tax cuts for billionaires that fock the rest of us. That’s it. They got coopted on healthcare and are left raging against their own plan. They got coopted on welfare as well and nearly every other fiscal issue too. That’s the legacy of Clinton/Obama triangulation. They destroyed the Republicans. Not that it’s inured to much benefit but they did do it.

So now all the republicans have is the cult of personality and a reliance on supposedly populist strongmen like Trump. I do worry for the future because while Trump will be going away, he can’t just be replaced by an old school republican like Romney or McCain.
