Songs That Depress You!

Recommended Posts

This one both depresses and comforts me. It's quite possibly my favorite song of all time....

The opening song to the show MASH - Suicide is Painless

Never understood that.  Suicide is painless?  Doesn't it depend a lot on how you do it?  :dunno:

My Dad died when I was nine. We were golfing together at the time.

I know it's very uncool to like this band, but this song and video are pretty good.  I think Sux likes this one.

False Echoes.

"If you get there before I do."

I don't think I've EVER heard that song without tearing up.

How in the fuk is uncool to like this band?  They are talented as all hell and write / produce incredible songs, imo.
Subjective, I know, but I LOVE me some My Chemical Romance :headbanger:

Good call on Elliott Smith.  Adding:

Adding one more.  The day that WHFS went off the air, a DJ on WRNR who had been a longtime DJ on HFS played this in tribute.

That's when it really sunk in and a young Mookz shed a tear.

How about a cheerful song about a woman who loses her kids?

Sorry about the double spacing in the lyrics.  Always does that when I copy/paste on my phone.

What do I do with all the children's clothes

such tiny things that still smell of them

And the footprints in the hallway

onto my knees scrub them away

And how to be of use make the tea and the soup

All of their favorites throw them away

And all their schoolbooks and the running shoes

Washing and cleaning the dirty still sink

Routine keeps me in line

Helps me pass the time

Concentrate my mind

Helps me to sleep

And keep making beds and keep the cat fed

Open the Windows let the air in

And keep the house clean and keep the routine

Paintings they make still stuck to the fridge

Keep cleaning keep ironing

Cooking their meals on the stainless steel hop

Keep washing keep scrubbing

Long until the dark comes to bruise the sky

Deep in the debt to night

Routine keeps me in line

Helps me pass the time

Helps me to sleep

Routine keeps me in line

Helps me pass the time

Helps me to sleep

The most beautiful morning forever

Like the ones from far off, far off away

With the hum of the bees in the jasmine sway

Don't ever let go

Try to let go

Don't ever let go

Try to let go

Don't ever
