If you haven't seen it, it's worth a watch. There are a few rounds in this fight that have to be some of the best of all time.

Been a fan of Gatti in the 90's when I seen him beat so bloody and came back to win the fight. Mickey makes me want to watch the movie The Fighter again. Thanks for posting this!

I would agree that is the single best boxing match of all time.  I watched it live.  I'm surprised a movie has not been made about it, embellishing side-stories, etc of course.

Very cool. And that would be awesome if it was made into a movie. I think Ward said if he lost the fight he would retire. I guess he REALLY didn't want to retire. 

First time I saw that fight was a while back when I was visiting my dad and it was just the two of us around. He asked if I ever saw it and I said "no".

He said, "well wait until you see this" and he threw a tape in and we watched it while having some beers. Great time and best fight I've ever seen. 

How they both lasted the whole fight was simply amazing.

The announcer deserves an award.  "He looks like a Rock Em Sock Em Robot" 

I don't think there has ever been a time in the history of boxing where a fighter has been said he looks like a Rock Em Sock Em Robot.  And I don't think it was meant as a compliment.

 

And look at the way he still had his mouth guard in during pre fight instructions.

Awesome. And the other guy actually threw in a "I've fallen and I can't get up!" as the dude was laying on the ground.
