polecatt 403 Posted March 26, 2021 The defending champs have a big part of their run game returning. Leonard Fournette, who exploded in the playoffs, is coming back on a 1 year deal worth up to $4 million. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31141338/source-tampa-bay-buccaneers-bring-back-rb-leonard-fournette-1-year-deal
weepaws 2,460 Posted March 26, 2021 Awful move once again at the rb spot for ff. I would imagine that Vaughn is going to garner more work going into his second season. I see no better then a very low rb2 - rb3 from any of the three based on usage. N

He'll get scraps here and there and spend most of his time on special teams. Bruce Arians does not use 3 RB's interchangeably. McCoy and Vaugh combined for only 36 carries last year. In 2019, Ogunbowale only got 11 carries and he was 3rd on the team in rush attempts by an RB. I think in the offseason, Tampa is going to work with Fournette to be back to 2019 form, with respect to receiving. My early prediction is that Jones will be the 1st and 2nd down back on two-thirds of the teams drives and Fournette will be the 1st and 2nd down back on the other third as well as the 3rd down back. Jones, about 12-15 carries a game... Fournette about 8-10 carries and about 4-5 receptions. I think they both get around 12-13 touches (each), per game. Of course, if one of them starts off hot, that could alter the game plan. In the end though, I think Vaughn's role doesn't change. I'd take Fournette as my RB3 and Jones as an RB4. Vaughn is useless unless one of the other two get hurt. This year, Vaughn is campaigning for the starting job in 2022. Both Jones and Fournette will be UFA's after this season. weepaws 2,460 Posted March 26, 2021 Like I said , I think Vaughn will garner more work this season. I think he’ll even double last season touches. So if your counting at home, that should be about 62 touches. Thanks b

weepaws 2,460 Posted March 26, 2021 Your post was wrong, so I was correcting it. Thanks.
TBayXXXVII 2,117 Posted March 26, 2021 Ok. Not sure how you'd come to that conclusion based on what you saw the last 2 years... or ever, in Arians' career.
weepaws 2,460 Posted March 27, 2021 I’m not sure what the last two years has to do with anything I said about Vaughn , he’s only been in the nfl for one year. Simply my own prediction.
weepaws 2,460 Posted April 12, 2021 Darn it, they sign Gio, there goes the work load.

weepaws 2,460 Posted April 13, 2021 If you look at invoice #26583 that’s what I was referring to.

I see the backfield as a 50/50 split with rush attempts between Jones and Fournette with Bernard playing a James White type of role.
