I have the Moderna flu

Recommended Posts

I’ve had Pfizer 1, didn’t even know she stuck the needle in.  Arm was a little sore for a day.  #2 is this Thursday, to be safe I won’t plan on running a marathon the next day.

Good idea. You may need the rest. Keep the plan to a simple 13 miles then a light workout in the weight room.

I hear the Moderna is worse.   I could not have gone diving yesterday.  Feel a little tired today still but going.

I had zero issues with both Pfizers shots.

Yeah, other than a slightly sore arm, I only had very minor chills and slight headache for a brief period (maybe an hour) the day after the 2nd Pfizer dose.

My wife and younger son have gotten the 1st Pfizer dose with no issues. My older son got Moderna, and was wiped out the next day with headache and fever after his 2nd one.

I'm getting J&J later today.  After that I guess I'll be allowed to French kiss random strangers, right?

Fockkk.  I just got shot one of Moderna. Now I am not looking forward to shot 2

3 days later I'm good. Sore arm still, but other than the slight headache and extreme tiredness it was okay. Everyone is different though.

I warned ya. You could have just waited to get the weakass virus and you may have never even known you had come into contact with it.

Sorry to hear.

I've got my first Pfizer shot on Monday.

:fingerscrossed:

I made it 48 hours fine after shot 1.  I had the full on flu that night of day 3 though.  I went to lunch and felt a little out of the ordinary but functioning and working ok.  Got up to get a refill and leave and thought I was going to hit the floor before I could make it to the drink station.  Most everyone I know reacted to shot 2.  Been doing some research and it seems a lot of articles say that if you react to shot 1 you likely had some Covid exposure already.  That night was rough stuff, nausea, fever, chills, aches.

I think I may wait a couple more weeks and get the Johnson & Johnson one shot.  It's just one shot, is 75% effective against getting the virus but 99.99% effective at preventing hospitalization or death, which is really the only thing that matters.  And even if you are the 25% who do get it apparently it reduces the viral load so much you don't get all that sick, if at all (hence virtual no risk of hospitalization).

It's not an mRNA type vaccine.  And thus far has far less side effects like is being described in this thread.  At least that is what I've read online.

This is what I am doing. I am scheduled for next Friday with the J&J vaccine.

I understand the other ones are better, but I am in my 30's, O blood, exercise, and am healthy. The J&J shot is the one for me.

My arm isn't too sore after getting the J&J shot earlier today, but it was certainly one of the more painful injections I've received.  Don't know if it was the shot/needle in general or maybe the gal at the pharmacy just wasn't the best.   She was Asian, though, so maybe she did it on purpose.

Regarding the vaccination card...  If this ends up being something you might need to show at some point then why the hell did the CDC make it just slightly too big to fit in your wallet???

Or it could have focked with my lungs so I could not dive anymore.  I read about a few divers younger and healthier than I am that that happened to.  That scared me more than anything.

Give them Ivermectin and they will be good to go. It works on long covid.

On top of that, any 'vaccine' is not stopping anything. That's already proven. They do nothing. All ya did is allow them to pump a toxin into your body. 6 months from now you will wonder why you need a booster shot.

LOL, so the vaccine does nothing but Ivermectin is 100% effective?   You’re too funny.

I don’t doubt that Ivermectin could have potential, but if it was a miracle drug it would’ve been approved by now.   Meanwhile the vaccines have shown to be highly effective.

I wouldn’t laminate in case boosters come out and are “required”.

They say similar things in some countries about the Polio vaccine.   I played poker with two people that thin like you last night.  They went on about their opinion and I kept my mouth shut.  None of us knows sh1t about medicine.  I do not tell other people what they should do based on my beliefs unless I am an expert in the field.

I really trust my doctor.  Been going to him for like 15 years.  He spotted something insignificant once the turned out to be nothing.  He had his nurse call the specialist to get me an appointment while I sat there.  When she said it would be a month he He raised hell until the specialist would see me that day.  All was well but I trust this guy 100% to look out for me.

My sister is a surgical nurse at Cleveland Clinic and the doctors there were all trying to get their families shots before it was available to medical staff at the hospital.  She said it was pathetic but it showed how much they believed in the drug company.  If I gambled with the vaccine i would rather gamble with info from them than people reading things on the political forums.  Unless you are a doctor you are just regurgitating info that may not be based on medical info.

Tylenol and ibuprofen has helped but I'll see how I feel once that starts to wear off.

I'm with @Bill E. on this one.  My sister in law is a family doctor and this mRDNA tech has literally been around for the last 30 years or so - just not as prevalent as the normal way we usually make vaccines.  But they have been used before and there is nothing wrong with them.  I'll trust her opinion as well.

Think of it as Windows and, say, Linux.  Both are proven Operating Systems but mostly everyone only knows about Windows.  But Linux is just as good and proven - it's just not used as much.  🤷‍♂️

What other vaccines has it been used in?

Never Been Done Before?

That's not completely true. While an mRNA vaccine has never been on the market anywhere in the world, mRNA vaccines have been tested in humans before, for at least four infectious diseases: rabies, influenza, cytomegalovirus, and Zika.

A couple of days ago, my wife asked me if I wanted to get a Chinese vaccination shot. I said "No, I'd rather wait for one from the US to become available." There's a reason we have always paid extra so that our kids only ever received US, European, or Australian vaccines and that reason hasn't changed. Apparently though, if we get this vaccine, we can travel somewhere this summer, which is a fine selling point considering that only my son has been outside Panzhihua once since the summer of 2019 (he went to a soccer tournament in Kunming while we worked, holidays are when we can really cash in big time in my line of work).

After reading this thread, I think I'm more likely to get that Chinese vaccine now since it seems likely that I'm going to get my ass kicked regardless. Still, I'd rather hold off on the decision as long as possible, the Chinese vaccine may well have worse consequences than just kicking your ass for a dozen or so hours.

Did they explain the reason behind blotching out part of the card with marker? Something seems fishy.

That's a good question. I really went back and forth on it. I decided to get it and add myself to the millions vaccinated hoping it would calm people enough so we can go back to normal.

BTW If I wasn't done having children I wouldn't get it and I don't plan on getting my kids COVID vaccinated.

I'd also like to add a lot of people would lose money if they had to guess if I would get the vaccine.

Definitely makes sense for people that know that they’ve had covid not to get it.

For “healthy people under 40,” I would say the main reason is not everyone only cares about themselves and it will result in less overall spread and getting back to normal sooner.

The point of a vaccine is to build up enough community immunity so the virus doesn't spread and we can get back to life pre-covid.
