According to HT, if he played for the Giants, he would be automatically in the HoF...

Gamer.  If Drew Pearson makes the HOF, then Edelman should be 1st ballot.

Oh you can do that all day. I just can't be a hypocrite. He's not a HOF by the letter of the law. We all know every HOF has been ruined and changed to the hall of good

Also the greatest catch in super bowl history as well.

Interchangeable part. See Welker, Wess. Some of you need to stay away from football talk.

Nah, Pearson was only put in because he was Cowboy and the NFL needed press.  Edelman has a legit claim.

Maybe biggest catch.  The most impressive was by Julio Jones in the loss.

If Torry Holt, Hines Ward and Reggie Wayne aren't in the HOF then there is no way Edelman will, that's insane talk.

He was clutch and a helluv a player, but its the HOF not the Hall of Very Good.

i hate the Pittsburgh football club, i hate RapeyBurger, i despise Tomlin, can't stomach Holmes, and have very little use for Arians .... but, considering all that was on the line, Holmes toe tap TD amidst 3 Cardinals is easily best SB catch ever - it won the game.

check it out

this is the one, folks.

The Holmes play was a better throw than catch.

Torry Holt:  920 receptions...13,382 yards...74 touchdowns.   7 Pro Bowls.   Super Bowl XXXIV stats in the win, 7 for 109 and TD.

Julian Edleman:  620 receptions....6,822 yards,...36 touchdowns.  0 Pro Bowls.  He did average 6 receptions for 75 yards and 0.3 TD's in the playoffs. He did play in a ton of playoff games being a player on the Patriots though.

The Edleman for HOF talk is laughable.  He was a very good player, had some clutch moments.  Kudos on a great career but lets not be stupid.

Now on this we agree. Edelman is close but no cigar

Yup, I hate to rain on his parade as he retired today. We should be talking about how fun of a career he had, IIRC he was a QB in college, but instead the sports media are pushing this HOF narrative.  Blah.

Can't we just recall the clutch moments and give him his fair due?

He was good enough and played meaningful games to help the Patriots win championships.  I'd put him in the HOF and I hate the Patriots.

I love the guy. Hell of a player. Straight baller. But I don’t think he’s HOF worthy. Then again, my opinion doesn’t matter cause I’m not the one casting a ballot. Some of the people that have gotten in or we know is getting in then I wouldn’t be surprised if he got in  :dunno:

Julian Welker. Wes Edelman. Same guy.

Wes Welker had more receptions, more yards and more TD's in his career.  Same QB.  Pretty sure he won several Super Bowl rings too.

Some of y'all (not you HT) are funny, just live in moment.

I'd put Wes Welker in the HOF too.  Basically if I have a nice RC or two of really good players I want them to make the HOF, for the value of my card collection!

Wes Welker never won a Super Bowl. He would have won one, but he blew it.

Those are good comps. Edelman dominates them all in playoffs, but still isn't a HOF to me
