Maybe they need to do a sequel where he is caught, found guilty again, then hung for his crimes.

The sequel would be warden Norton living 30 years in a prison, proclaiming his innocence and that he was framed.  He failed trying to kill himself.

Its movie.  So...uhhh..."what if?"   "What if" means you are bringing in someones imagination, and making up scenarios.

Quote

What if Shawshank Redemption hero Andy Dufresne was guilty of murder and his real "game of chess" was tricking the world to believe his innocence?

What if in Rocky 4 the Russian took a dive and made it look real by letting himself get hit and Rocky didn't really win?

What if in My Cousin Vinny the two boys actually did shoot the clerk, but they just didn't show it in movie?

Interesting hypothesis, but not buying it - Andy was innocent.

Re: Red.

Con-artists are self absorbed vultures. Their lack of emotion are what allows them to manipulate and exploit people for what they want. In the end, Andy went out of his way to better the life of his friend - for nothing more than his love for him. By planting that money, by asking him to join him - it was for nothing more than companionship and friendship... Con-artists don't have that gene - Andy never does that if he's guilty.
