Pink Floyd's Roger Waters turns down Facebook's offer of a 'huge, huge amount of money' to use a song, calls Zuckerberg 'one of the most powerful idiots in the world'

Roger Waters, a founding member of the classic rock band Pink Floyd, said Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg offered him a lot of money to use the band's 1979 classic "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2" in an Instagram advertisement and he refused, Rolling Stone reported.

"It arrived this morning, with an offer for a huge, huge amount of money," Waters said at a recent pro-Julian Assange event. "And the answer is, 'F--k you. No f--in' way.'"

He added: "I only mention that because this is an insidious movement of them to take over absolutely everything. I will not be a party to this bull---t, [Mark] Zuckerberg."

Far Out Magazine previously reported that the band refused to allow their music to be used for any advertisements that weren't for a "good cause."

Much respect for Mr. Waters and Pink Floyd.   :overhead:

He’s right though. Zuck along with the other liberals think they can control whatever they want. Glad some people are finally standing up to them. You’ll see more of this happening

Zuckerberg spent 300 million in cash in the last election. But it’s ok if it’s for the left side of the aisle. Also, if you still have Facebook or anything associated with it you’re the Fockin problem.

Love Roger Waters. He WAS Pink Floyd.

Highly recommend his last two concert movies as well, The Wall and Us+Them. Recommend a bunch of whiskey for the former and some edibles for the latter

Zuck is part of the global capitalist crowd, also known as the Democrat leadership.  They aren't the old fashioned lib Democrats that Waters is.  He gets credit for that.

Nah. Maybe a few years ago you’d be correct. But now with how much bullsh1t the left has been spewing you’ll see more and more flip or just flat out tell them no, regardless of money.

Nope. You’re wrong. Hence, why more and more people are coming out in opposition. Of course, I use common sense and observations when I make a statement :dunno:

I bought second row tickets in '19 for Roger Waters, paid a pretty penny.  Promised my 14 year old boy I'd take him.  It's finally been rescheduled..........for September 3, 2022 😠

Yep, same boat here.  Ticketbastard sure held that cash in limbo for a long long time until RW finally announced new dates.

Appears he’s a full blown communist now. Keep up. Of course a crazy rich one. I have often said that everyone should go through a Pink Floyd stage in their lives. And then grow out of it.

That’s cute. But yeah, he’s always been that way

I would assume in a Socialist, let alone Communist country, they would just take the song from Waters and let Zuck use it because he would pay off the right person.

Something seems ironic about that.

I'll be there with my son along with friend and his son. Wanna meet up for an overpriced beer at the Moda Center?

This will be rare.  These companies wield considerable power, and not just financially, but also through their political alliances and the enormous number of idiots that pervade the platforms.

My favorite album is the final cut. It says Pink Floyd, but it's all Rodger.
