Recommended Posts

There were quite a few born out of the Great Depression.

The creamed chipped beef and tomato on toast.
The miracle whip / lettuce / peanut butter sandwich.
The butter and pickle sandwich.
The cheese and pickle sandwich.
The peanut butter and tomato sandwich.
The pickle and peanut butter sandwich.
The carrot, pickle, peanut and mayo sandwich.
The walnut, mayo and lettuce sandwich.
The bran, evaporated milk and egg fried sandwich.
The corn, onions and tomato sauce open face.
The creamed celery biscuit sandwich.
The carrots, cottage cheese, mayo and butter sandwich.
The peanut butter and mayo sandwich (quite popular apparently).

Nothing like the days of being broke. I can't even remember some of the crap I would throw together after a night out drinking the cheapest focking beer I could afford to buy.

I always wondered how the Stouffers creamed chipped beef microwaveable dinner was. I've never had the guts to try it. But I see people buying it all the time.

I worked for Stouffer's back in the day. Started out at their hotel in Oakbrook Illinois as busboy in the restaurant and moved over to room service waiter. This was back when I was 16. First job ever. My mom was waitress there and moved on  to personnel director for some years. I don't know why or how but she used to get all the free frozen dinners she wanted. She never made them for our dinner but they were great as snacks. Especially their french bread pizzas. Those were always my favorite.

I had the cream chipped beef and loved it. But that was a long time ago. Can't vouch for it as an adult but, it's always worth a shot at least once.

This is the place I worked:

I used to make at least $75 in tips a night, along with $3.35 wage. This was while I was in high school. I had tons of money at the time.

I once made a sandwich from pretty much everything in the refrigerator , to include cold meat chili and dill pickles.

Was pretty Greta.

Beats me, but all the kids are from one WW2 veteran. :dunno:

Not really sure where you are trying to go with this.

Zero I'm guessing. She's been dead and decomposed for years.

Again, what's your focking goal here?

I don't care at all. Just wondering why you are asking about my moms sex life. I never asked her about it. And you keep asking. Once is fine, but 3 times? Meh.

And I don't expect you to know, but my dad just passed in the past month and honestly, I miss my times with my parents. Selling the house and the whole deal is a lot of memories.

No worries dude.

My favorite sandwich of all time my childhood. There was an old Italian family deli nearby. The diploma special. Basically two layers. The bottom layer was Links of Italian sausage sliced long ways with just the right amount of marinara then the next level divided by Bread was all the traditional Italian cold cuts and cheeses. Man, I got to tell you the combination of flavors and textures and temperatures was amazing.

I don't think it's so weird, but some people might. I love me a good potato salad sandwich.

There's a place in Chicago that makes a Puerto Rican sandwich called a Jibarito where fried plantains are used instead of bread.  It was weird and just ok.
