California spending 500 million to thin forests to prevent fires...guess it wasnt global warming

Yep. And the liberals tuck their tails and whimper away.

Who can forget their attempts to make fun of the former president when he mentioned that coyotes facilitate human smuggling for the drug cartels. “Haha, he thinks wild dogs smuggle humans,” they squealed on their cable news hits. Did they really not know what a coyote was in that context? Or were they just being purposely obtuse? I think we know the answer to that.

A similar situation arose last year, when Trump suggested that California needed to focus on clearing undergrowth in forests — in order to prevent the devastating forest fires that have ravaged the state. In response, teeth were gnashed because the only acceptable explanation to the left was to blame the destruction on “climate change.”

This is long overdue. When you look at the historical trends of California fires, it was clear that a lack of proper forest management and suppressing of natural burns had caused the last half-decade of carnage. Now that Trump is out of office, California can admit he was right without having to admit he was right. It’s all very convenient, but it’s also deeply cynical. How many people suffered because Democrats wanted to play politics with forest fires? Never mind that in some cases, the fires were man-made, which meant that blaming climate change was even more farcical in those instances.

In the end, Trump was right and his detractors were wrong, again. But they weren’t just wrong by chance. They purposely lied at the expense of people’s lives and homes in order to avoid having to agree that a Republican president was right. The left is not made up of people who are well.

It really is astonishing how they ridiculed everything he said for four years... and now quietly just come around and change their tune. And nobody seems to notice.

He only believes what the corporate media tells him.You have to find LATimes or CNN article about the same thing where President Trump's comments on the situtation won't get a mention.

Now I don't know, because I don't care...

But I wager that the powers that be in California don't want to solve the fire problem, because they have their fingers in the hundreds of millions of federal aid that goes there.

Just a theory though.

This is becoming a common thing.  Trump gets laughed at for his comments.  Months later Dem agree with what he said but gets no credit.  It shows the power you have when you own the media.   The narrative is yours.  There are so many sheep in this country that it works even better than it really should.

Didn't Trump recommend that we start taking the forests?

Taking them??

I know that when they used to cut and harvest lumber..alot fewer fires...then the hippies and owl watchers got mad.  Then the hippies said..i want to see beautiful trees around my home...basically years of bad decisions

Of course he was right, because any normal person not afflicted with TDS could see what he said made perfect sense. But because of  our leftist media and the willing fools that are their target who believe anything,  it was made fun of and dismissed and meanwhile the fires raged. But hey, there was an election to win.

This isn’t an either-or proposition. Forest management is being tried because there is no solution in sight for the severe drought and heat. If the climate hadn’t been warming so quickly, the dense forests wouldn’t be a problem. Natural fires would clear things out over time, without turning into massive wildfires. Unfortunately, the heat and drought have made things very different. So, Trump can be right that forest management is a possible solution, but the scientists who talk about the climate changing are also right, as the heat and drought have put us into this situation.

The problem is, it’s not feasible to manage 33 million acres of forests since it is slow manual work. 1/4 an acre per day for a 12-man crew. Only have to hire a few million workers to get it done anytime soon.

Also, the federal government owns over half of the California forests, and Trump didn’t do shite to manage the federal land… so he might have been partially “right” but refused to follow his own advice….

Quote

Acre by acre, tree by tree, branch by gnarly branch, a handful of 12-person crews, armed with little more than chainsaws and axes, is attempting to thin out the California forest.

It is a Sisyphean task. The state is home to some 33 million acres of  woodland. An efficient crew, working with hand tools under ideal conditions, can get through a quarter of an acre a day, give or take.

In a best-case scenario, Governor Gavin Newsom hopes state and federal crews will be thinning out one million acres annually by 2025. He's asking the state legislature to give him $2 billion to accelerate efforts in the fiscal year starting July 1. But even if his goal is achieved, it'd still leave millions of acres, and the communities that surround them, vulnerable for decades. And with temperatures soaring and drought conditions worsening across the state, it's only a matter of time, scientists say, before the first of the big blazes of 2021 break out.

Yes, we know Trump was right. That has already been established, we don't need Newbie jr. confirming it for us.

Clearing the brush from the fire roads is not a huge undertaking. That’s exactly what Trump was talking about, not the whole Forrest. I’m so sick of dumbahit liberals twisting and leaving things out.  If the brush www removed form the fire roads than the fire roads would work. They won’t if they are covered in kindling.

So its unfeasible to rake a focking forest, but lowering the temperature of the entire globe is feasible?

I know there are plenty of city living people here who have common sense at the very least.

But city people have no idea what an acre even is.  Its 2 different lifestyles.  Most cant even start a mower.
