You only get to listen to one band/singer for the rest of your life. Who is it?

I'd probably go with Porcupine Tree / Steven Wilson.  Good sized discography so there is plenty to listen to.  Nice variety as well.

Choosing Steven Wilson also keeps the door open in case the OP makes a ruling that work as a producer also qualifies.  Aside from working in the studio with bands such as Opeth, he's also remixed scores of classic albums by bands such as Yes, King Crimson, and Jethro Tull.  👍

If work as a producer counts I take Steve Albini without hesitation.

I don't recognize that name.  What band was/is he in?

If he's ONLY a producer then that doesn't pass the "band/singer" criteria.

He was in the Minutemen and Shellac. He’s best known for producing a ton of indie rock bands from the 90s onward: Pixies, Breeders, Nirvana, Fugazi, etc.

I only need the one song. It's perfect. How many awards did it win?
