Its a good idea for the fans and interest.  But Id imagine crap teams just want to go home after the season.  Not wait around for a month to play 1 game to move up 1 spot.

If you did this, it would be better to do 4 teams.  2 games on Saturday of the Championship weekend.  With the final the next Sunday.  Fock that 0-16 team.

The ONLY incentive for the players is money.  Give them all an extra game check. That'll do it.

The only way this works is the 2 worst teams play.  Winning team gets their salary doubled for the season.  Loser gets their salary cut in half for the season.  That will make it an absolute dogfight.  Every team will be playing their butts off in the last month of the regular season just to avoid that game.
