I'll definitely watch Deadwood. Hopefully my wife enjoys it as well.

I am a bit worried, though, since everyone here was glorifying Tombstone.  I finally watched it - fock I even paid a few dollars to rent it - and thought it was incredibly meh.  Val Kilmer and Johnny Depp should have a competition for most over acted role in a movie.

I saw that six times in the theater. Val Kilmer was awesome.

I was six when top gun came put, so I didn't see it in the theater. I remember we watched at a boy scout sleepover, and all wanted to be fighter pilots.

Tombstone I was 13. We snuck into the movies a lot in those days.

Canteen boy?

I can understand having a soft place in your heart for a movie from when you were a kid.

Game of Thrones (except the last 2 seasons which sucked)
Sex in and the City
Girls
Insecure
Succession
Oz
The Sopranos the first couple of seasons.
Real Sex and Taxicab Confessions
Tales from the Crypt
Veep and Curb your Enthusiasm gets honorable mention

1. Band of Brothers

2. Deadwood

3. Westworld seasons 1&2

4. Six Feet Under

5. Tie between Watchmen/Lovecraft County/Sex and the City/Succession

GoT should be on here, but after that abominable last season… they can got fock themselves. Also, should mention I have not seen The Wire. I’m sure if I had, it would be on this list.

Sex and the city is excellent. Yes, it is the quintessential chick show. But into every man's life some chick flick must fall, so I appreciate good ones.

God I forgot about real sex. I had a friend who had HBO, and we'd all gather over there at 12 and 13 watching raptly

But she wasn't in that scene. Of course, she was naked quite a bit in her show. I appreciated that she wasn't perfect. Why should we only look at perfect bodies. I thought she was sexy because she was fearless to show her flawed body.

Tough question.

The Wire, although it did not hold up on rewatch, IMO.

GOT Yes, I even liked parts of the last season, just not the ending.

Six Feet Under. Great all the way through, probably second only to MASH in sticking the landing. Final ep was amazing.

Sopranos, obligatory

Veep. Maybe the funniest non-animated show I've ever watched. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is a GODDESS.

Honorable mentions: Early seasons of True Blood and Silicon Valley, Succession has a chance to be in the top 5 if it keeps up the pace, Watchmen was awesome, and yes, I even liked watching Sex and the City with my ladies.  And I know it's not an HBO show, but it's on HBOMax... Rick and Morty. God I love that show.

Watched first episode of Deadwood last night. Oh yeah this is going to be a good show.

While watching it I said to my wife that you could make a drinking game out of it: take a drink every time someone says c0cksucker.

It’s a freaking great show. Unfortunately or fortunately you’ll both be hammered within a half hour each episode LOL

Only 3 episodes in but damn there is no shortage of hilarious quotes.

This one is appropriate for pretty much every thread here:

The Sopranos
Entourage
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Dream On
The Larry Sanders Show

Disclosure: haven't seen some of the more popular ones mentioned here. The Wire, 6 feet under, deadwood, etc.

I'm almost tempted to add HBO for a year or so. Charter/Spectrum has all those series available in their entirety, on VOD.
