Panthers WRs

Looks like they have big plans for Anderson; they just signed him to a 2-year, $29.5 million extension.  (Moore is making about $3.5 mil this season.)

What that looks like is that they have money to spend to meet the salary cap floor for a free agent because the other guy is still on his rookie contract for this year and next.  Panthers are still $25M under the cap.

Tyrod Taylor >>> Sam Darnold.

Brandon Cooks >>>> Anderson

Why anyone would draft Anderson is beyond me. He is going to be a week 4 cut from anyone who did draft him.

Take cooks instead and thank me later.

It's probly the appeal of having a top 20 WR on your fantasy team.

I will bet you 50 dollars cooks outproduces Anderson.

Want to take it?

Or we could bet 50 dollars on a coin flip...?  Your coin or mine?  One was the WR17 last year and one was the WR19, though things have probly improved somewhat for the WR19 and gotten less rosy for WR17, so they could easily flip places this season--or tie with the exact same number of fantasy points.

I draft a lot of Cooks too, just 2-3 rounds later.

Even though cooks has the later round adp I can put up more money.

75 for me on cooks, 50 for you on Anderson. That is good odds if you think it is a coin flip.

I'd rather bet on the coin flip.  Now are you in or out?

Why, do you not believe in Anderson? I am giving you +150 on in your words "a coin flip".

People would love to get that in Vegas.

I believe Anderson and Cooks have approximately the same potential.  I believe in both of them, having 11 shares of Anderson in 46 drafts, and 23 shares of Cooks (with the same fantasy potential at his lower ADP).  So I'm not sure why you think I would bet on either one of them against the other.

But I'm always up for some random quick cash, so your $75 to my $50 on best 2 out of 3 coin flips is accepted.  I'll take tails.  Do you want me to do the flipping, or will you?

How about Antonio Brown or do you have him in 30 fantasy leagues.

50 dollars straight up, no odds.

edit, i may also consider mooney if you give me slight odds.

lol

You want me to bet you $50 that some scrub WR40ish kind of player will score more fantasy points than a top 20 WR?

And what about our conversation makes you feel that I would be willing to do that?

Nope, it's the coin flipping or nothing.  So accept the bet or walk away.

I chose 3 guys that all have a worse ADP than Anderson. I was trying to give you the advantage.

You must not be that confident in Anderson.

You must not be that confident in your coin-flipping.

But I thought you wanted me to bet that Antonio Brown or Darnell Mooney would outscore Cooks.

If you're giving me Anderson against Brown or Mooney, then sure; I'll take both, even.  Shall we make it $200 each just to make it interesting?

I still think you should have just accepted the coin flip bet and taken on the flipping duties.  Then you could have just told me you had won, and I would have to believe you, and you would have made $50. As it is, you stand to lose $400.

Live and learn...

50 dollars

Anderson against Antonio brown.

basic scoring system ie PPR, 1 pt/10 yards, 6 point TD, 2 point for 2 point conversion, etc.

standard FF league season ie first 17 weeks of the 18 week season

loser pays by paypal?

I guess for a measly $50 we don't have to worry about injury exemptions--so the bet is on regardless of games missed due to injury or craziness (in Brown's case).

I am confident in brown performing, I am not 200 dollars confident in Brown containing his crazy. Would it surprise anyone if he was suspended at any time.

I would have taken Cooks for 200.

But again, that would just be a coin flip--betting on which of two basically equivalent WRs ekes out 5 more fantasy points on the season.

I'll go $50 on a coin flip, but not $200.

I’ll do the coin flip bet if I get to tell you whether I won or not…

Ok, SkiBum seems too frightened to take on that role, so if you feel up to it, I'm game.

Two out of three, and I get tails.

Nope, a bet is a bet.  And Axe Elf cannot tell a lie.  I guess if you don't want to reveal your PayPal, I can't pay it off, but I tried.

You don't even have an email address listed in your profile.

I hope this isn't an elaborate prelude to some "Axe Elf is a Welcher!" campaign.

::: shrugs :::  Well, I was serious.  I thought MTSkiBum was serious too, but I guess nobody wants Axe Elf's $50 today.

At least he offered to give me $50 on Robby Anderson, but I probly won't make him pay that, either.

Only if I'm the loser.

So there you go, you got $50 to $0 odds.

Don't get me wrong you are going to lose, but in the off chance brown goes crazy and gets suspended then I will need to pay up.

Maybe I'll just have you pay @jrokh then, since I lost a $50 bet with him, and he won't give me his PayPal.

Robby Anderson - 2 catches 15 yards and a TD on 5 targets

DJ Moore - 6 catches for 48 on 6 targets

I still like them both. Darnold too.

Seems to like T Marshall also.

And Arnold was 3-3 on targets.

Anyway, I also prefer Moore and he’s the only one I’d even bother drafting

It didn't work out that way last year in PPR...  Though Moore had 100 more receiving yards, and 1 more receiving TD than Anderson, Anderson had almost 30 more receptions than Moore.

What's changed?

Well, the Panthers drafted a new speedy receiver that will compete with Moore, not Anderson, for targets...

And oh yeah, the Panthers have a new QB who used to work so well with Anderson, that the Panthers wanted them both...

Anderson is the one that you want--both in terms of draft value, and probably in terms of overall PPR scoring, as well.

This doesn't seem to be the case, especially the final sentence.

What data do you have?  I've read that Moore is going about 2.5 rounds sooner, about 30 picks, before Anderson.  I think Moore's upside/ceiling is higher than Anderson's and is definitely worth the investment.  Personally, I think Anderson at 30 picks behind Moore, is a bit of an overpay.

These are the 4 guys going ahead of Anderson...

  • DeVonta Smith
  • Courtland Sutton
  • JuJu Smith-Schuster
  • D.J. Chark

These are the 4 guys going after him...

  • Deebo Samuel
  • Antonio Brown
  • Laviska Shenault Jr.
  • Tyler Boyd

I'd take all of them over Anderson because I think Anderson's expected return is no higher than mid-WR3, most likely a solid WR4.  All 8 of those guys I listed have higher ceilings, in my opinion.  Every one of them have a shot at being WR2's.  I'd rather have Jarvis Landry 30 picks later, than Anderson.

Excellent.
