My three leagues , two 14 teamer one 12 teamer , we have five bench spots.

Makes it a lot tougher then those eight plus bench seats.

Not 8 bench slots its 4. Misunderstood. I can only roster 8 total rbs, wrs or te’s total (start 2 rbs and 3wr/te). Ha. Trust me the wire is usually housing solid options on a weekly basis. Im not a fan of the rules but i like the money!

my 14 teamer has 5...12 team(big money) has 7....but we also start 4 receivers and a flex....we have 10 total starters in the league....and its still friggin tough AF/competitive and there are tons of drop/adds at $20 bucks a pop with FAAB system

im sure it makes it tougher....but just making it tougher doesnt automatically make it better or cooler....5 bench spots sucks imo...but thats just my opinion

12 teamer...10 starting spots...7 bench spots...drop/adds 20 bucks a pop...we had 13 already this week and 2 between the draft and the start of the season....ill go back and count what we had total last year but it was ALOT! even with all those spots......different guys have differ on how they want to fill those spots...some guys will carry 1 qb for weeks...some will carry 2 defenses and switch them in and out...ive seen some guys carry 3 qbs for a stretch......everybody has a different way of building their roster....yet still we always seem to have tons of transactions even at a fairly costly price

That’s why you think it sucks, it’s tougher.

lol....its not tougher...but im sure its tough to some...or for some...its not tougher than ours though...you just think it is......its all good....like i said...guys still have different opinions on how to fill those spots and sooner or later guys need help...i just went through our ledger from last year and counted over 100 transactions through like 8 or 9 weeks lol.....and that $ all goes into a pot....theres still TONS of transactions even with 17 rounds/roster spots

Charging for drop/ adds I thought was normal, never have been in a league that doesn’t do it that way, or FAAB.

Answer that question why there are still roster worthy players available, like that other posters league.

Thanks.

there are "roster worthy" players because you need to fill out your roster...lol...and different guys have different ways of filling theirs out....then there are injuries and bye weeks....its no different than any other league just a couple of more roster spots than yours...which makes it no less difficult to navigate.....

im sorry..if im playing in a league where aj dillon isnt rostered RN i want no part of it.....its not  a league imo....have a good one

1k smart league  We can only roster 8 wr/rb/te total and we dont have to start a Te. The roster limits are a bit weird but thats why i had to mention. And yes, i would be dropping Boyd (my #5 wr/te) and make a move on any of those guys on the wire. Leaning Marvin Jones atm but the rbs may be a better investment in the long run since i dont think i will even start either wr

I definitely would drop Boyd for any of Dillon, Pollard, Marvin, or Charknado.  Chase makes Boyd expendable.  I don't know your roster construction, but if Boyd is your WR5, Dillon might make the most sense.  Then Pollard.   Hard to ignore 12 targets to Chark (only caught 3 somehow!), but if it's an end of the bench stash, I would rather have Chark as the lottery ticket than the steady production of Marvin Jones.  My rationale is youn can probably get a Cole Beasley type any time you want which will approximate Marvin Jones.  But if Chark and Lawrence can make a connection, that might really take off.

Short bench leagues are axually "easier" in that there's so much more talent left on the waiver wire.  If one of your starters goes down, it's not a huge dropoff to the next guy up on the wire.

When you're playing in a 16 team Superflex league with 10 bench slots, you're halfway to a best-ball league where what you draft is what you have for the season--so you better draft skillfully.  Maybe you can improve your team through a trade or two, but for the most part, you either drafted the best players, or you're an also-ran.

When one of your starters goes down, you're choosing between Le'Veon Bell and Jake Funk on the waiver wire.

Short benches is tougher in a different way than deeper benches.  You have to make more judgment calls with short benches trying to optimize rosters with limited space, but it's easier to just find viable starters on the waiver wire.

Deep benches are tougher in that you need to construct a roster that can withstand injuries and identify talent earlier than your opponents.

yup...what you dont realize is theres less talent on the wire with the same attrition....still bye weeks and injuries...and not every guy fills his bench the same way as the other guy.......i agree thats its toughter with deeper benches...but if a guy feels its tough with less spots so be it...but he isnt gonna tell me his league is tougher!

i agree...short benches can be tough too to different people....im just not at all interested in a league where dillon, pollard and both chark/jones are available at this point...doesnt seem as tough but to each their own

in a 12 team ppr league with 10 starters and 7 bench spots not every zeke owner has pollard...not every cook owner has mattison...not every mostert owner got sermon in the draft or mitchell on waivers......theres still the same attrition with less talent to fill it....and not every guy fills his bench with the same amount of qbs, rbs, wrs, etc....some guys hoard positions or hold few of one...some guys roll with 1 qb till its bye week time...others hold a couple......

Agreed.  I play in a 10 team league that only has 13 roster spots and Dillon is rostered even in that shallow league.  But I could make a whole other competitive team with guys on the waiver wire.

Jameis, Mayfield or Cousins

JD McKissic, Rountree, latavius murray Pollard, Rhamondre

Marvin Jones, Agholor, Higbee, Waddle, Beasley, Callaway

I already did tell you that.  And looks like you agree.

Thanks

Yeah both shallow or deep bench leagues offers its own difficulties. Cant argue it either but i dont like the league setup im in and hate the idea that teams that have injuries or have mismanaged their drafts or in-season rosters can just swipe a more than decent guy on the wire anytime. Kills all the edge

Im riding the same wave. Pivoting toward Dillon or Pollard and stashing that lottery ticket

I would look into picking up M Jones.

Thanks for the question and good luck with your decision

How are the Brown using Hooper and Njoku. They going to a double te formation?

Hooper wasn’t very productive last weekend.

Because Fuller can’t seem to handle being an NFL player I’m getting rid of him. WW has Van Jefferson and Gabriel Davis. Any thoughts? I have them just about even,  but Davis only has an ancient Emmanuel Sanders in his way. Thanks.

I would take Van Jefferson.  He was only one target behind Woods.

Davis was behind three other WRs for targets.  And three behind Sanders.

Don't be too grateful; I'm afraid you've just been "weepawed."

The correct answer would be Gabriel Davis.

Both were tied for next-to-last in targets (4th) on their respective teams in Week 1--but the Bills pass more, so that was 5 targets for Davis and only 3 for Jefferson.  Davis is more of a go-to receiver for Allen, whereas Jefferson is more of a deep ball specialist for the Rams, so you'll get more consistent scoring from Davis--though maybe a couple more big games out of Jefferson over the year.

Sorry 'bout that.

Even though the Bills pass more, both had two rec, Van Jefferson has 2 rec for 80 yards and I td, Davis had 2 rec 40 yards and a td.

Like you said OP, about the same,  you want the one that will score more ff points , that’s going to be Van Jefferson.

I think Marquez Valdes-Scantling could have a big game and, thus, be a hot WW addition.  He had 8 targets against the Saints including multiple deep shots, but only reeled in 3 for about 17 yards.  This week he gets the Detroit Lions and you'd think the Packers would be trying to make a point that week 1 was an aberration.

If this does pan out, It'll also be a mistake to pick him up since he's so inconsistent.

Good Choice.

MVS went 6 catches for 85 yards and a TD the last time he faced the Lions.   He is quintessential boom-or-bust, as you alluded to.   Great guy to have on your team in Best Ball Leagues.

If you had Brandon Zylstra in the Who Will Score First in Week 2 lottery, you just won ten billion dollars.
