No.  Born and raised in Texas and the only cowboy hat I had was when I was 9 or 10 years old.

From Wyoming, but live in Texas.....

No I do not own a cowboy hat. I do not work on a ranch or ride horses. The only people that wear cowboy hats in the west are ranch hands.

I own one and it is one of two hats I wear hiking; they both provide 360 protection against the Phoenix sun.  It doesn't fit my bald head as well though so I've mostly worn the other hat recently.

My main hat is similar, a Tilley Airflo something like this:  https://www.tilley.com/collections/airflo/products/ltm6-airflo-hat-1?variant=40597391769768

My cowboy hat isn't leather; not sure the material.  It's this Akubra: https://akubra.com.au/collections/hats/products/cattleman-fawn

The cowboy hat I didn't buy; it was a gift 20 years ago on a company incentive trip.  My wife got a (cuter of course) one.  They sat in our closets for 15 years until we got into hiking and my wife thought it was more attractive.  It's stiffer but also a little warmer so I tend to break it out in the winter mostly.

I have a Stetson they gave me for going to the Marlboro ranch and wore it there and haven't wore it much since. I'm more of a cowboy boot guy and use to wear them all the time when I was in my 20's. Oh the Stetson pretty much looks like Burt Reynolds in SATB hat without the ban.

Yeah but I did the white trash/redneck thing and bent the fock out of it to fit my needs. Dood who shaped it when I bought it hates me. :D

Mostly wear it in the winter. Great for keeping rain and snow off my face.

My father had a great cowboy hat that he wore on summer camping trips. When he passed it was mine but sadly I do not have it anymore- I mean he wore the Sh1t out of it so it was probably not wearable but through moves I lost it. It’s all good but I miss that hat.

Thank you for allowing me this time.

1. Age, climate of where you live, gender and personal style all come into play.

B.  Cowboys, even 2021 Cowboys can only wear those hats.  There should be a test, like a drivers license test before you get to do that.

III.  I don't know all the history or whatever but a Stetson hat reeks of a Yankee wanna be Cowboy.   Like trying to be half pregnant.  I'm from Buffalo but I'm going West for the gold rush  kinda hat.

Best hats for sun coverage are Aussie style golf hats.  Titleist makes a great line.   Also a beach straw full brim hat for sun and fun is classic.

Normal ball cap for outdoor most sporting events.

If you want to wear a hat at night for style, you need to be over 40.  At that point is whatever you can pull off.  Fedora, Havana's,

you’re dead wrong here. anyone wearing a fedora out of the house needs to be kicked in the nuts asap. also if you wear a straw hat  on beach and are under 50 i assume you’ve been bullied enough in your lifetime and the fact that i know youve never been or will get laid should be punishment enough. hth.

If you google “Australian style golf hat” the second one that shows is the Tilley hat I posted earlier, or very close to it.  The two after it look a lot like my Akubra, which is Australian.

No man under 80 wears a straw hat.

@Gepetto it appears your favorite team has a logo of a man focking a horse.

I'll just leave it there.

I guess.  Maybe for older Cowboy fans.

i.e. The ones who bought the Brokeback Mountain DVD.
