to get my but beat by non playoff team - I mean I love it the non clinchers actually played out 

for once in the last 3 years 

I had planned to play 5 seed then I fall to 7 seed to face the 2nd seed my arch nemesis the Commish !!

hoping Chicago puts cook into submission I picked up chase Edmonds a week ago

Projections dont mean much.

its actual points that matter.   Just put your best team on the field and let the chips fall where they may.

maybe the fantasy gods made you lose because you were destined to beat the commish this week.

you never know.....

just being truthful.  If I had a dollar for each time I was projected to lose where I actually won I'd be a rich guy.

projections are usually based on past production with a regression used to estimate the score.

when plugging in rookies or backups, the projection goes crazy because there is a lack of data.  so it almost always under estimates rookies.   and late in the year it over estimates QB/s and WR.   because the weather often limits production.

so late in the year your projections can be off by a significant amount.   So I have learned to ignore them for the most part.   they are a tool to compare players but not always a good one.

 

also the fantasy gods work in strange ways.   I've learned that many times over.
