I thought it was a good show, and match.

The best barbed wire match I ever saw was mid 80's. Fantastics vs Sheephearders in mid south for Watts. Holy blood. It was brutal.

This one is gonna be brutal. Good blow off to the storyline.

The match was solid. They had another mishap when they couldn't get the cage with JAS open.

I'm a bit disturbed by the amount of injuries at this point. Chris Jericho broke his nose in the match. I usually rewatch the show on weekends, so I'll have to pay attention to when it happened. I may or may not be more sober rewatching it.

Just so many key personalities missing right now. CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, MJF, Kenny Omega, and I could wear out my fingers typing out the rest of the upper card, mid card people out with injuries. I'm looking forward to Miro vs House of Black....well Miro against anybody. I can't believe Ass Boys vs The Acclaimed feud is so over.

Still not sure if I'm interested enough to order ROH this week, but I think I should be able to watch it the next day anyway.

Fantastics and Sheepherders are lost in history. Two excellent teams, and before becoming clown in WWF, the Sheepherders were brutal. I think the most exposure I got to them was the syndicated UWF promotion run by Bill Watts for a couple of years. I thought those shows were really fun, until ECW came along. Game changer.

I agree with you on Ass Boys and Acclaimed. I usually hate that stuff, but I'm part of the crowd on this one. It's been a guilty pleasure of mine. I just find it highly entertaining  (and yes I do hate myself for it).

On a side note. Billy Gunn is the best part of this imo. He's so freaking entertaining as pappa ass. And JFC does he look good. He's in better shape now than he was 20 plus years ago in his youth/prime.

I think if both teams became serious, they could both be very successful. But I'm thoroughly enjoying the comedy for now.

During the lockdowns, there was nothing on TV, so I watched AEW Dark and AEW Elevation every week. Wish I had time for those, and the vlogs from BTE and Sammy, but time is occupied.

Billy Gunn used to fock with Aubrey Edwards all the time pre match on Dark matches. He'd give her forced hugs, he'd grab her and ball room dance with her around the ring. Aubrey pretended to hate it and have a scowl on her face, but she's admitted how much fun they were having doing the shenanigans.

I also wanted to go on record.

Adam Page just f'n blows. I liked him in ROH. And he was just a green kid there. But, man I saw something. Then AEW starts up and he looks to be one of "the companies top guys".

They should've put the belt on him at the start. I completely understand why they went with Jericho. But he should've been the next guy, not Moxley. Let Jericho and him go back and forth for a year. Then when he's on top, him and Omega work a program that he goes over.

This booking has absolutely destroyed this guy. And he's done.

You got quality in Danielson, Punk, Claudio that you've brought in. You've got home grown talents like Wardlow and Utta. You got kids that are progressing like Guavarro and Starks.

Page is done. Let your contract run out. Take whatever WWE gives you and make a payday. Your run and hopes are done. Not all your fault, booking has been terrible. But you're not the next Barry Windham because of your size. You're done.

Looked like Jericho broke his nose on codebreaker. The chair smacked him in the face. Honestly, I was disappointed in the match. But my expectations were pretty high.

Respectfully disagree with you here. I don't think he's done. Yes, his booking has been bad, but he has a lot of talent. I think when some of injured guys start coming back he'll be back in the main event scene.

Hangman Adam Page seems to be today's topic.

Definitely a fun ride. The all time classic Omega Page vs Young Bucks tag match at Revolution 2020. The running across a football field to deliver a clothes line. Chasing Sammy Guevera on a horse. The bar fight with Jake Hager. Yeah, I loved Stadium Stampede I, very enjoyable on rewatch. The crowd surfing. Drinking booze from members of the crowd. A couple of classic matches with Bryan Danielson, including the one hour draw on TV. The 5 vs 5 match of The Elite vs Dark Order, with the entrance promo that was goose bump worthy.

It's a cooling off period, where I'm not sure what they want to do with Page. He chased the belt forever, and then his reign was somewhat short when they put the belt on Punk, and then Punk gets hurt at the worst possible time. I'm assuming he is treading water until Omega gets back, which is reportedly not that far away, to start up some kind of Elite civil war. Just give me more Don Callis, for fock's sake. Really miss that walking urinal.

I will look for that moment.

The exploding ring barbed wire death match was disappointing, well, the end anyway. I need a rewatch on this, but they seem to overbook the barbed wire matches. I think I recall Aubrey trying to peel Jericho and Kingston off the wire at different moments, and I was definitely cringing. Yet, Blood and Guts 2 was excellent for me. Just inconsistent in some of these matches.

Do you guy's think they backwards book?

Everything seems to be a gimmick match. No slow build, straight to the blowoff. The big match seems to start the fued. Change of the times maybe? But AEW seems backwards alot of times. Exception was that Wardlow/MJF fued.

ROH title means nothing anymore. It's like back in the day. 94 maybe? When my favorite wrestler of all time. BARRY WINDHAM won the NWA World Title. When he did it, it wasn't what it was. But he still did it.

Claudio. You did it brother. Congratulations

Right after Claudio won, Gresham asked for his release, and got it. I guess he wasn't crazy about doing the job of dropping the belt. The most recent ROH PPV doubled up their buys from their last PPV. Tony Khan is getting some of that purchase money back. It would be interesting to see if he can land a TV deal somewhere.

So, more injuries. Dax Harwood and Matt Menard with shoulder injuries, Dante Martin with the ACL. This is getting depressing. Especially for FTR, who are basking in their success and popularity, and now may have to job out all of their belts. Rumblings of a soon return of Kenny Omega. CM Punk, with a shattered foot, not so much.

SEND HOOK. :pointstosky: And maybe Danhausen too.

Looks like Ricky Starks is going to get extra attention. Well deserved.

So, Kip Sabian has been sitting ringside with a box on his head for maybe a year. Is there going to be a payoff soon? Long term booking.

Trios titles coming right up. Fine. But if they establish women tag titles, it's time to riot. Those focking women matches just drag the ratings to Hell, week after week after week. Stop it.

All Out, in Chicago, this Sunday. Let's do a preview:

Jon Moxley vs CM Punk for the AEW Title. CM Punk with plates and 16 screws in his surgically repaired foot. Moxley bleeds eating a ham sammich. After the woe is me routine by CM Punk, after losing the title unification in 3 minutes, expect Punk to get the title back and get a proper title reign. Winner: CM Punk

Toni Storm vs Hikaru Shida vs Jamie Hayter vs Dr Britt Baker DMD for women's interim belt. The trendy pick is Jamie Hayter, but this is Toni Storm's match to lose. I hate women's wrestling. Winner: Toni Storm

Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks vs Dark Order/Best Friends for Trios Titles. While the opponent won't be determined until Rampage on Friday, Tony Khan waited for Omega to come back to break out the Trios titles. Clearly, Omega and Bucks win, and the most fun would be vs Hangman Adam Page and Dark Order. Winner: Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks

Bryan Danielson vs Chris Jericho. Daniel Garcia is in a  tug of war in the middle. This is dream matchup with a potential to be match of the night. I suspect Garcia interferes, accidently or not, and costs Jericho the match. Garcia possibly might join the Blackpool Combat Club. Winner: Bryan Danielson

Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland vs The Acclaimed Max Caster and Anthony Bowens for Tag Team Titles. Two up and coming teams, but you need to give Lee and Swerve more time with the belts for credibility. The Acclaimed are over and don't really need the belts. Winner: Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland

Jade Cargill vs Athena for TBS Women's title. I hate women's wrestling. They are building up Athena like some kind of credible threat, but it's way too early for Jade to take the first loss. Winner: Jade Cargill

Ricky Starks vs Powerhouse Hobbs. It looks like the plan is to elevate Starks to the upper levels of the roster, and this is as good of a place to start making it happen. Starks is a future star. Winner: Ricky Starks

Casino Ladder Match: Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Penta El Zero M, Rey Fenix, Rush, Andrade El Idolo, Dante Martin, plus the Joker. Tough to figure out, not knowing the Joker. I think they save MJF for the Grand Slam show in New York. So, who is Joker? I'm guessing Samoa Joe, who will go on to win the match. Winner: Samoa Joe

Jungle Boy vs Christian Cage. Brutal feud, emotional scarring, but it hasn't fully run it's course yet. Winner: Christian Cage

Wardlow and FTR vs Jay Letha and Motor City Machine Guns. How can this match go wrong? So many talented performers. Sit back and enjoy. Winner: Wardlow and FTR

Sting, Darby Allen, Miro vs Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews. Fascinating dynamics all around, but I can't recall Sting losing a PPV match. And Miro is looking forward to his flexible wife. Winner: Sting, Darby Allen, Miro.

PRESHOW...............................................................

Eddie Kingston vs Tomohiro Ishii Booking a banger for the preshow. I read that Eddie lost to Ishii in Japan a few months ago, so I guess Eddie gets the equalizer. Winner: Eddie Kingston

PAC vs Kip Sabian for AEW Atlantic belt. PAC keeps defending this belt overseas, but Kip Sabian finally came out from underneath the box on head gimmick at ring side and is back in action. Still, PAC is the man. Winner: PAC

HOOK vs Angelo Parker for FTW belt. It's nice to see challenges to HOOK for the belt, but this challenge is going to be yet another squash match. Send HOOK, if you dare. Winner: HOOK

I agree with all your predictions except for the women's title match.

I think it's gonna go Hayter or Baker for the win. And this sets up new fued.

I'm thinking Hayter wins as the baby face, and Baker fueds. But, I could also see Baker winning. Possibly even screwing Hayter in the process. Turning Hayter.

Either way. My girl Reba Rebel still looks hot as F0ck. And she could eat taco bell, run a 10 mile marathon, in 90 degree weather, dierraeh sh1t herself at the finish line. AND I'D STILL EAT HER OUT!

Just saying

My 2 thoughts coming out of a big pay per view weekend.

#1. Tony Khan just might well be Herb Abrams reincarnated. If anyone out there has never heard of him. Hit Wikipedia, grab a beer, and enjoy the ride.

#2. Gunther is the absolute best wrestler/character in the WWE today. Sorry Brock, sorry Roman. Much respect. I enjoy your stuff. But WWE PLEASE, I'M BEGGING YOU. You have Claudio Castagnoli part 2. You blew it the first time just because you didn't like his accent. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE TWICE. Vince is the reason for the Claudio mistake. So I have hope that trips knows better. Put a rocket on Gunther's @ss and ride him to the moon.

All Out was solid, not spectacular. First, some accounting. Hit on 11 of 14 predictions on match results. While I had the Joker winning the Ladder Battle Royal,  I picked the wrong mystery entrant. Turns out it was not too early to bring back MJF, who got a lot of help from the rag tag faction  Stokely Hathaway has assembled. I was surprised that Hobbs beat Ricky Starks. Starks momentum right not is zero. And I did not expect Jericho to beat Bryan Danielson, but Jericho needs a big win once in a while, and it prolongs the Daniel Garcia story line.

The stand out matches were ishii vs Kingston, Youngs Bucks and Omega vs Dark Order and Hangman Page, Swerve in Our Glory vs The Acclaimed,  and Moxley vs Punk. Many matches felt short in length and there were a few squash matches in surprising spots.

So, Malakai Black is now on hiatus with mental issues. Not sure where House of Black goes from here.

I'm still reeling from the post PPV events. First CM Punk bad mouths half the people in the company in front of media post PPV. Then the Bucks and Omega confront Punk and company, and end up brawling in the lockerrooms. Black eyes were dished out like Halloween candy, chair shots, doors kicked in, and biting.. There was concern that several women got pulled into it, and even CM Punk's dog.

Just waiting to see the suspensions and possible firings to be announced.

I hated Ricky Starks as a baby face. I watched him in the NWA and while I thought. There's something that could be there. I just don't care.

He came into AEW the same way. And I was, meh. Then he turned heel. Then he truly found himself and took the  next step. He was great.

Now as a baby face again, I kinda don't care again. Plus this loss does nothing for him. Hobbs is good. They love this guy, and he's getting the push from here on out. But it should've been a no contest or something. Starks looks very weak and an afterthought after this. Not cool!

Looks like Black is gone, with the normal 90 day, no compete clause.

Lots O Lots O suspensions came out from this. Punk is the only exception so far.

My thoughts are, he did it in the wrong way. But everything he said was true. Plus he also has full creative control of everything he does with his character. Soooooooooo?

I find it endlessly fascinating that these personalities, CM Punk, The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, they are famous for their sobriety, for being straight edge. Yet lose their minds in the heat of a moment.

The craziness continues. For the 2nd time in the past few months, CM Punks wins the title and will have to vacate the belt again without a title defense as he's injured again.

I guess it's time to put the title on Bryan Danielson. Have a mini tourney for the interim belt, and let the American Dragon go with it. Moxley is the AEW MVP, but you need some fresh blood. MJF will be in the mix for sure as well.

Considering all the chaos, I thought Wednesday was a good show.

Onto the chaos. I hear Punks stripping of the title was due primarily because of his injury. He needs surgery, and it's a 6 to 8 month rehab. He seems to have worked things out with Kahn, but when he comes back. It's a better be on your best behavior, last warning. ( Kinda makes you wonder if he even does come back.)

His buddy Ace Steele, is on indefinite suspension. Most likely will be bought of of his back stage/trainer contract. As he seems to be the instigator of the dressing room melee.

The Bucks were the actual one's suspended, and stripped of the trio's titles. Depending on who you listen too. They either started it and Steele reacted, or Steele started it, and it was on from there. Either way, they are on VERY thin ice at the moment. If they were just talent, this would've been the final straw. BUT, they are more than that behind the scenes. So everything is up in the air at the moment with them.

Omega looks to be a victim of circumstance. He's part of the trio, so obviously he was stripped of the title, and suspended also.

BUT, from everything I gather from all 3 sides. Buck's, Punk's, and third party observations. Although he was with the Bucks. He was in the background. And when holy f0cking h3ll broke loose. Punk had his dog in his dressing room. (I guess he NEVER goes anywhere without him). Omega basically said F'this, grabbed the dog and waited outside with the dog while sh1t was going down inside. Until it could finally get broken up.

A WILD AND CRAZY RIDE. I actually side with Punk. But, boy did he do this in the wrong way.

Apparently, after Wednesday. They had a full crew/talent (except for the suspended) meeting back stage. Kahn, talent, everyone spoke.

Jericho, Moxley, and Danielson all took charge. Basically saying, we got something good going here. At this stage of the game, it either succeeds, or goes down quick from here on out, and we're done. Listen to the 3 of us.

We'll see what happens from here on out.

* Also, Black has been granted his release. He had 4 year's left on his deal. But personal issues have led to a clean break. Kahn also said if he needs any treatment to let him know, and they will get him what he needs.

Jon Moxley is supposed to be on vacation right now. And the behind the scenes politics won't allow it. Cue the the Jay and Silent Bob voice over "I'm not even supposed to be here today.!!"

I'd really like to see Bryan Danielson win over Moxley and get a title run. Already got the upset win over Jericho.  Why not? Give Moxley a breather from carrying the company on his back. Give MJF, FTR, Wardlow, Miro, OC, Starks, Darby, Jungle Boy...just thinking about it, there are so many candidates that could carry the ball for a while. The roster is very deep. MJF gets the belt at Full Gear. Hopefully, Ring of Honor gets their TV show by then.

Some odd booking decisions lately. I think the majority of fans wanted to see Bryan Danielson get a title run, instead of giving  it to Jon Moxley yet again.. Moxley is fine as the champ, but Danielson would be far more interesting. I guess they gave Jericho the ROH belt over Claudio as I suspect they must be close to signing a TV deal somewhere for Ring of Honor, and with Jericho as the champ, that sells interest right out of the gate. Also, one step closer to the Jericho and Daniel Garcia feud, but now with ROH title stakes. Back when I used to have time to watch AEW Dark matches, The Acclaimed were really nondescript, really bland. And here we are, they are probably the 2nd most popular tag team in the company, behind only FTR, barely. Shocking improvement, and "Scissor Me, Daddy Ass" is starting to seep into the social zeitgeist. They should have given them the belts at the PPV,, but they fixed their mistake on Wednesday. OC vs PAC is always hilarious, and while it might be interesting to see OC with a belt, this wasn't the right one as it's mostly defended outside the country. But you have to put the Trios belts on the Best Friends at some point. They were huge in carrying the company during the China virus shutdown, especially Trent, and should be rewarded. You have the give the people what they want.

So CM Punk is likely never coming back. Can they bring back Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks? I think so. I can't believe the amount of star power I've mentioned in the past two sentences are just gone, and the show's ratings have risen and been steadily over a million every week They are going to be the cable #1 show every week anyway. I think that whoever wins the Battle Royale tonight gets their title shot in a few weeks,. "injures" Moxley, and MJF challenges, exploits the injury the entire match, and wins the title at Full Gear in November.

And they brought in someone that  I guess used to be called Paige, who isn't cleared to wrestle. Why? Baffling.

Two hour show tonight, a nice bonus. Stacked card.

Word I'm getting this week.

From a source, who has a source, who knows a source, who is related to a distant cousin of a neighbor to a source.

Is Punk is completely done at AEW. Bucks and Omega situation is much more complicated and will involve the court system.

And National Scissor Day is now a thing. Or whatever Tony Khan is calling it. Smack my ass and call me Spanky.

I'm starting to fall behind in my viewing. Life is busy. And this is the only first run programming I watch. I'm trying to watch last week's Dynamite and Rampage before tonight's show, and time is not my friend. Sixers preseason game tonight Sigh. Anyway....

Full Gear PPV tonight. Not really excited by the card, and really dread that they have 3 women's matches to suffer through, but the wings are already defrosted and will be marinating shortly, and there aren't a ton of good college football games on tonight, so I guess I'm pot committed. I do appreciate a Saturday PPV over Sunday, just for the sake of sleep going into a workday.

AEW World Title: Jon Moxley vs Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Well, AEW certainly is obvious with their title changes, and MJF is taking the belt tonight. Moxley gets his well deserved and delayed time off. The only question is if MJF cheats, and how. I don't think it comes from Stokely Hathaway and The Firm, who will show up, but possibly from William Regal betraying Moxley, and the brass knuckles making an appearance. Winner: MJF

AEW Women's Interim Title: Toni Storm vs Jamie Hayter. Hayter is becoming a grass roots popular figure among fans, but rather than a title change from the well liked Storm, they might as well pull the trigger on a Hayter and Britt Baker feud, with Baker costing Hayter the match with interference. Or at least build towards the eventual feud. Winner: Toni Storm

Dr Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs Saraya. Good Lord, I hope some lighting stantion falls from the ceiling and kills them both. Will Saraya drop her first match in AEW? Well, this feud could go on for a while, so sure, why not prolong the agony. Winner: Dr Britt Baker, D.M.D

ROH World Title: Bryan Danielson vs Chris Jericho vs Claudio Castagnoli vs Sammy Guevara. The match has plenty of potential for entertaining spots, but ultimately it seems like the simmering tension between Jericho and Sammy will boil over as Sammy tries to pin his partner in crime. Jericho still retains to keep his The Ocho disrespecting the ROH title gimmick going. Winner: Chris Jericho

AEW Trios Titles: Death Triangle Rey Fenix, Penta Zero El Miedo, and PAC vs The Elite The Young Bucks and Kenny "By Gawd" Omega. Well, the fallout of the CM Punk fight is nearly over, and we have The Elite back in action, which the company really needs as a breath of fresh air. Still, I don't think they will burden the Bucks and Omega with the titles, let Death Triangle retain, and let the Bucks and Omega pursue other AEW titles. Winners: Fenix, Penta, PAC

TNT Championship: Wardlow vs Samoa Joe vs Powerhouse Hobbs. Slobberknocker. Big meaty men slapping meat. Wardlow has not had many defenses lately, but should retain. I am fascinated if he does the Powerbomb Symphony to either Samoa Joe or Hobbs, as both are big guys. But, he got W Morrisey up in a powerbomb, so we will see. Winner: Wardlow

AEW Tag Team Titles: The Acclaimed Anthony Bowens and Max Caster vs Swerve in Our Glory Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee. The Acclaimed have to keep the belts, they are huge with the whole "Scissor Me, Daddy Ass" schtick, and this is a good time to break up Strickland and Lee as a team as they are not getting along. Winners: The Acclaimed.

TBS Championship: Jade Cargill vs Nyla Rose. Yet another women's match. This might be as good as a time as any for Jade Cargill to lose her first match, maybe one of her entourage betrays her and costs her the match. Just please keep this match under 5 minutes. Winner: Nyla Rose

Cage Match: Jungle Boy Jack Perry vs Luchasauras. This feud just won't end. Jungle Boy guaranteed to dive off the top of the cage onto Luchasauras. Winner: Jungle Boy Jack Perry

Sting and Darby Allin vs Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. This could be an interesting match, and I'm curious to see what Jeff Jarrett has left in the tank. Sting has never lost a PPV match in AEW. Until tonight. I think JJ wins his debut match,  plus they have plenty of help ringside. Winners: Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett

Brian Cage vs Ricky Starks, Eliminator Tournament match. This could go either way, but it feels like the recent push of Cage is limited, while Starks could be elevated quickly to star level. Reliving their previous feud from a year or so ago Winner: Ricky Starks

Eddie Kinston vs Jun Akiyama. Eddie Kingston reveres Japanese wrestling history and has no problem putting over his heroes as they are approaching retirement. Winner: Jun Akiyama

Best Friends Trent Barretta, Chuck Taylor, Orange Cassidy, Danhausen, Rocky Romero vs The Factory QT Marshall, Nick Camorato, Aaron Solo, Lee Johnson, Cole Kanter. A clusterfock for sure. What I know for sure, The Factory never wins at PPVs. You got to give the people what they want. Winners: Best Friends

Gonna pass Full Gear it just does not do much for me.  Hopefully it turns out better than it looks on paper and does not end with sparklers.

Hayter and MJF winning the men's and women's titles was 100% the way to go. I felt like after this show there was a chance I was gonna just start going through the motions with AEW. But they sucked me back in baby! Can't wait to see where each story goes.

Can we seperate AEW and ROH finally though? This is soooooooo much like when WWE wants you to think RAW and SMACKDOWN's rosters are 2 different companies. Just unify the belts like when JCP bought the UWF. Or completely seperate them.

Have not kept up with this thread in a while.

Jay Briscoe just got killed. One half of The Briscoes, descendent and part of the legendary Briscoe wrestling family. Half of the current Ring of Honor Tag Team champs. Car accident in Delaware. (tin foil hat, Biden "I did that")

Sucks that the TNT/TBS executives would not allow AEW to bring them to the basic cable airwaves because of politically incorrect Tweets they made from a decade or so ago, but easily one of the top 5 tag teams currently in the world, and maybe over the past 20 years or so, and will sadly never get the full acclaim for their talents. But the team is always going to be ending as champs.

In retrospect, it was weirdly timely that FTR dropped those ROH belts a few weeks ago to The Briscoes in the dual dog collar ROH PPV match. Haven't seen the match yet, but I'll probably watch it tomorrow in the tail gate to Dynamite.

R.I.P. Jay Briscoe.

One half of the best tag teams out there in the last 2 decades. Only 38, and surely would've given us another decade of greatness with his brother Mark. The wrestling industry lost someone truly special.

When it comes to wrestling. It's the age old. "I know this is BS. But that guy right there. That guy's real." The Briscoe brothers never got the main stream media. Or the big payday. But them boys are/were as real as it gets. THEY WERE WRESTLERS!!!

🙏
