It's funny how priorities change as you age.   Back when I was your age..I did't care about things like SS and the like.   Now, I do.   Not my only source of income but sure would like to have that as well as our 401k's.  Easy to see why politicians don't wanna mess with it.  Old focks like me vote.  Climate change, abortion, illegals, are far down the list of things I care about before SS.

Absolutely.  It wasn't that long ago that I didn't pay any attention to what was going on with politics and stocks.  After starting a family and owning a business it changes things a bit more.

And I believe, I really do, that once those priorities change and those things you mention happen, the person tends to lean more right than left.

For sure. Really from mid March 2020 has been trending up (didn’t stop you know who from bragging about 1000 point days after it had just shet the bed…but I digress ).

I think most agree it was over inflated after that run and with interest rates being raised it is to be expected to be flat for a bit. Nice little run we have had with Tech leading the way past 6 months or so.

I predict it'll be at least 5+ more years before the Dow, Nasdaq & S&P 500 set record highs and won't double for 20+ years (which at 55 yrs old sucks for me)

Dow is about 8% of all time highs. Not hitting that over next 5 years will be disappointing.

No doubt. If a recession is looming like a lot of "experts" are predicting that 8% will be much higher, hopefully they're wrong and hopefully I have no idea what I'm talking about.

Remember how the orange turd screeched whenever the Fed raised rates?  How he cried so at the impact to the stock market.

Joe has delivered us from the wreckage lefty by Trump.  2020, millions of jobs lost.  Negative GDP.  Negative gas prices.  The US with a top ten worst covid death rate.  All turned around now.

Typically when the Fed starts cutting interest rates we generally see a market bottom 6 months later. But who knows, this time it could be different.

The stock market may or may not crash. Stagflation is more likely.  I don't believe the Dow, Nasdaq or S&P 500 will set record highs for another 10-15 years.
