thegeneral Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 AAPL and AMZN earnings tonight I’ll go AAPL miss…AMZN hit people freak out regardless and both take a hit. People looking for any reason to trim after this crazy run up. Quote
nobody Posted August 3, 2023 Posted August 3, 2023 AAPL always hits earnings. Then everyone calls it a miss, the stock drops after hours and then they get valued properly. The only time they go up on earnings is when they announce huge buybacks. Quote

thegeneral Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Link Had missed why there was the big run up this morn. Been a good couple weeks. Let’s keep this going. Congrats to anyone who bought the dip. Quote
thegeneral Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 The nice run continues…not a rocket ship but maybe a nice plane, like a PJ. Quote
thegeneral Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Link I like the cut of these guy’s jib. Let’s make this a reality. But, first let’s finish up the year strong and not give up these past few month’s gains. Quote
easilyscan Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 Many stocks did crash. Check out a five-year chart for stocks like Generac, Paypal, Wayfair, Roku, etc. By the time interest rates bottomed out in 2021, those & countless others were selling @ absolutely insane multiples. Any poor souls who bought those, will be waiting a long, long time to get back to even. Quote

The first chart is an ETF managed by Cathie Wood, who specifically invested in momentum companies like these. She was the newest darling of Wall Street, right up until interest rates started the move back to more historically normal levels. I hope Jerome Powell keeps his foot firmly planted on the neck of inflation until it's dead. Keep rates at current levels at least 2 more years. https://www.imagebam.com/view/MEQKOQL Quote

Two years ago I already moved all my mutual funds to bonds just before the crash when Covid started and oil went up, maybe a day late on that actually. thegeneral Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Another record set a little more trimming today When will there be a pulllback so I can deploy some of the reserves? Time in versus timing is my main playbook and don’t look too much when it’s going down I do like to have a portion where I get my gambling fix in where I am pretty active. thegeneral Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Good lord. NVDA is a runaway train (along with a number of other companies cashing in on “AI”). This is just a ridiculous run and definitely in bubble territory. Everyone’s accounts should def be at all-time highs within past few week range. Quote
thegeneral Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 The Big Tech studs start reporting earnings this week. Here’s a chance for all the haters and shorters to hope things don’t go well. These things are always a crap shoot and even good reports sometimes trigger a sell off. With many of these at all time highs we’ll see how this goes. Quote
