-1°

NW 9 mph

Bitterly cold. Intermittent snow showers, especially early. Low -1F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of snow 50%.

Annnnd that is about the most disastrous final two minutes possible.

ETA: 49ers manage to somehow avoid giving up more points after that series of f*ck ups.

GB special teams...

SF is about 25 yards from FG range with 2 minutes left.  GB might not even get the ball back.

Those slants over the middle of the field are the only thing working for SF.

You don't want to settle for a long FG in these conditions.  You need this thing to be under 45 if you can manage it.  49ers can't turtle up.

Deebo... Geez. Hopefully he's not seriously hurt as he hops off the field.

At least SF gets to play in TB or LA next week after having to deal with that mess.

I wonder if GB special teams coach will have a job tomorrow.

Looks like the Packers only had 10 men on the field for the last kick.

#11 already knew the outcome and was packing up his gear.

The game winning FG?  Unbelievable.

Packers fans should be happy if they move Rodgers.  After that Super Bowl... what 12 years ago, he's 8-10 in the playoffs... 0-4 in conf champ games.  Can't get over the hump.

I question the advantage of being a # 1 seed in this case. The packers are a passing team and a cold day in Lambeau Field does not work in their favor. It actually worked out great for San Francisco. A running team who likes to play smash mouth football. Last time Green Bay won a Super Bowl they were a wild card team in 2010. Just saying.

Saw this quote from Aaron Rodgers today: “There’s a lot of people tuning in rooting against us for one reason and one reason only, and it’s obviously my vaccination status,”

Maybe he should consider that lot people root against him because he is kind of an unlikable doushebag.

that doesnt mean the bye caused the disadvantage.   that means the disadvantage was because they played at home.

cold weather affected the pass game.

and to a large degree you are correct.  if you know you are playing 8 games at home (or 9 now sometimes) and you have up to 3 playoff games at home, you would think you would put together a team designed to win when it counts at home.

but that isnt the way it worked out.  you put together your winning team with the best talent you have Plus whatever you draft.

there has been a movement to involve the run more in the last couple years and to make the defense formidible.  and honestly, its a better D than we have seen in a while.   the offense is more balanced than we have seen too.

I think they are headed in the right direction there.  They just got a bit unlucky in the way it turned out.
