Putin Warns No-Fly Zone Will Bring Larger War

President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that Western sanctions on Russia were akin to a declaration of war and warned that any attempt to impose a no-fly zone in Ukraine would lead to catastrophic consequences for the world.

Putin reiterated that his aims were to defend Russian- speaking communities through the "demilitarization and de-Nazification" of the country so that Russia's former Soviet neighbor became neutral and no longer threatened Russia.

Ukraine and Western countries have dismissed this as a baseless pretext for the invasion he launched on Feb. 24 and have imposed a sweeping range of sanctions aimed at isolating Moscow.

"These sanctions that are being imposed are akin to a declaration of war but thank God it has not come to that," Putin said, speaking to a group of flight attendants at an Aeroflot training center near Moscow.

He said any attempt by another power to impose a no-fly zone in Ukraine would be considered by Russia to be a step into the military conflict. Such a step he said would have catastrophic consequences for Europe and the world.

The NATO military alliance has rejected Kyiv's request for a no-fly zone, on the grounds it would escalate the war beyond Ukraine into a far wider conflict, potentially pitting the United States against Russia.

There are several ways to prepare for worst-case scenarios, such as supply chain shortages, cyberattacks, and even the threat of nuclear poisoning, while still hoping for the best, Roman Zrazhevskiy, the founder of MIRA Safety and Ready to Go Survival, said on Newsmax Saturday. 

"One tip I always give people who are looking to prepare themselves and their families is to have at least one month's worth of food and water because you know there may be supply chains shortages in case that emergency breaks out," Zrazhevskiy said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America."

"During COVID, we've seen major supply chain shortages. Thankfully it didn't stem into shortages on food in the supermarkets still had food on the shelves most of the time, so we were good there, but that is definitely one important thing to consider."

It is also important to print out all current banking and financial records and to keep enough cash on hand in case credit cards and ATMs come under cyberattack, he added, noting that the threat has been discussed by the Department of Defense and other experts. 

"Russia's known to have initiated cyberattacks in the past, and more than likely if we were to interfere with their actions in Ukraine, they may launch another cyberattack against us, so that is important to consider," Zrazhevskiy said.

He also warned that while people may stockpile supplies like food, water, and gasoline, those things can expire, so they must be cycled so they are ready for use if they're needed. 

"You want to have a supply of bleach," he said. "Bleach will help you keep the water potable for longer periods of time, and then you can use a filter like a Berkey water filter, one of those outdoor water filters to get the chlorine out and make it drinkable."

Zrazhevskiy added that having a family evacuation kit is vital if an evacuation is ordered. 

"This is basically a grab-and-go bag with all your essentials, with a flashlight, on the way to an emergency shelter," he said, adding the bag should include food and water and "everything you need for at least a 72-hour scenario where you're evacuating from a place of danger to a place of safety."

And now, with talk rising about the threat of nuclear warfare or a nuclear fission accident, a family can add to its emergency stockpile potassium iodide tablets, which would block radioactive iodine from attaching to a person's thyroid gland and causing metastatic cancer, Zrazhevskiy told the program. 

"You definitely need that, along with a respirator," he said. "We highly recommend having a respirator at home, because if there is fallout, even if you're far away from the scenario downwind."

i dont know how you walk back things like calling Putin another Hitler, or calling Russia a terrorist state, while funding and arming the nation they are attacking.  The West is acting like bullies to him.   And the correct approach to a bully is to punch them in the mouth, because they quickly crumple to the floor and play dead.  Putin must obviously sense that.  Biden acts so weak that Putin must sense that if he nukes the US, Biden will kneel.  The West tactics are effective against the right wing in the west but these things are not going to work against Putin.

The point is, Russia is not going to nuke us unless their plan is for themselves to get nuked as well.  Hopefully Putin and his followers aren't that mentally deranged that they want to destroy everyone on Earth.  If so then we're all focked regardless.

I don’t think that’s the only scenario. All it’s going to take is one loose missile gets into Poland, or Putin sees us sending NATO planes flying around and supplying the Ukrainians as an act of war which in a way he would be right and then that’s it. Then it’s on.

- cease military action
- change constitution to enshrine neutrality
- recognize Crimea as Russian territory
- recognize the Russian-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent states

 

If you’re the Ukraine you need to hop on this and take it and take your chances. Otherwise you’re going to lose, get a bunch of people killed and he’s going to get those things anyway.
