After I got the word, I realized how lucky it was that I didn't go down the road you did. Started thinking of all the other words it could have been.

Was in the same situation, like "oh fugg, if I guess this word, well then there are two other words that are just as valid". So my fourth guess was a "test" word that contained two of the three possible letters. Either the correct one would show itself, or it would be the one not used.

On Tuesday when the word was "LATCH", I did my test word for those situations "BLIMP".

I'm a bit new to this threada, did we reveal our starter words? Seems like 5-Points may vary his.

I pretty much plow ahead with the same three words, and that almost always gets me there by guess four or five but rarely less than that unless the answer happens to align well with one of the first couple.

I'm using STEAR currently, I pick a word that's never been used in wordle and I use it until it comes up and I get another hole in one. I've gotten 2 so far.

Originally I started with ADIEU but at some point I switched to IRATE and I used that pretty much exclusively for a long time.

But after reading Honcho's post above, I need to find a new starting word if I ever want to get that ace.
