it is a big story, but I know nothing will happen and find it funny

I don't think govt should be involved in social media at all

If the tweets violated twitter rules, then it was OK (like the tweets the Biden campaign requested to be removed).

Therefore, any president or governmental official can and should have some input into how Twitter allows information to be presented?

Any government official should be able to report tweets to twitter, yes.  Twitter should not be required to do anything about it.

the right-wing is making a mistake in their arguments here.

if you want to argue that government should not interfere in the affairs of twitter, that is a losing argument because no-one is forcing twitter to do anything.  the REAL issue is antitrust practices of the MSM and the business sector that constitutes a monopoly of one school of thought.  you want to apply the Sherman Antitrust Act to break up this monopoly and force media companies to provide services to all schools of thought.

You could also argue the practices of Twitter and other media companies violate the civil rights act, for example where they allow people to post virulent hate against whites but shut down similar things against non-whites.  that is discrimination against race and violates the CRA.

but the government does not control twitter or any media company.  instead you have to think of this more in terms of the Woolworth's lunch counter issue, where corporations are using quotas to block people from getting access or being hired.

Then there is no issue.  It's a non topic in any way.

Using homophobic slurs as insults isnt only derogatory to the LGBTQ community, it shows how weak and insecure you are with your own masculinity.  It's a telltale sign of a Life Loser who has trouble pleasing a woman.  Most likely very few if any orgasms for the females you've been with. I might suggest that corporations are not engaging with the moronic "woke" actions without consequences.  Therefore they are paying for the patronizing nonsense, and eventually investment will respond to them being willing to lose money to play the virtue signaling games.

The communication of "advice" or any other guidance to Twitter about how to assess information suitable for use on their platform.  If the government wants to reach out to them and suggest that they include or exclude something, we are just fine with that behavior.

The government pressured Facebook and Twitter to censor on behalf of a political party.  That’s a violation of the first amendment.

We know they had meetings.  We don’t know if there was “pressure.”

And we also know that twitter did not always comply with their requests.

The government has no business even suggesting someone or something be censored unless it is clearly illegal.  Nothing illegal about the New York Post's Hunter Biden laptop story or people believing COVID was leaked from a Chinese lab.  The government and big tech colluded to defeat Trump.  Our public platforms need to be free from government censorship and political manipulation.  Of course you leftist authoritarian bastards believe otherwise, and I respect that you acknowledge your stupidity and inability to win a debate on facts.

Once again, no evidence the government suggested they suppress the laptop story.  There apparently was a vague “warning about a potential Hunter Biden story,” but even then they didn’t say “if something comes out about Hunter Biden you need to censor it,” they basically just said be on the lookout.

Your bozo from The Atlantic is cherry picking big time.

Watch Fridays episode and listen to what he says.

What did he say that was so awesome?  I just watched and he basically just recapped Taibbi’s thread.

He also interviews James Woods, and coincidentally they didn’t get into what his tweet was that was linked in the thread.  They’re both frauds.

He’s admitted that the #twitterfiles were a nothingburger.  He’s moving on to FBI agent Elvis Chan testifying that they had weekly meetings with twitter leading up to the election and sometimes (read: not always) twitter would remove content that they requested, but we still don’t know what the content was.

I'm not following this as closely as you; have we seen a specific request by the government that Twitter refused to fulfill?  TIA.

He didn't say anything awesome, he just said multiple times how twitter has a right to censor their tweets being a private company.

So it’s been confirmed that the FBI interfered directly with an election. And liberals are ok worth this.

Suggested is a really low bar.

Yoel Roth testified that in weekly meetings with the FBI he learned "the intelligence community expected that individuals associated with political campaigns would be subject to hacking attacks and that material obtained through those hacking attacks would likely be disseminated over social media platforms, including Twitter.  I also learned in these meetings that there were rumors that a hack-and-leak operation would involve Hunter Biden."

That's more than "suggesting" they suppress any story that might come out about Hunter Biden in the next few weeks prior to the elections.  And that's exactly what happened.

This crime scene has blood everywhere, the FBI's fingerprints on the murder weapon and you're shouting that there wasn't an eye witness.  In actually there was, a whole lot of Twitter employees.

So just to circle back for this we are the crazy ones for saying "Hey there might be something here but there is nothing specifically defined yet."?

But, but, we don't have something like the following email:

Quote

Dear Twitter

Re:  Our manipulation of elections and violations of the First Amendment

Please do everything we say or we'll send you to the Gulag.

Mkay Bye$#@!

The EffBeeEye

So obviously it didn't happen.  Because this email was not in the Taibbi drop.  Get with the program, comrade.
