How do you like your scrimps?

Recommended Posts

Number one, I think they have too much iodine these days. I think they are atrocious bottom feeders that filter the worst crap. But I still enjoy the taste of them in limited quantities.

End of the day, if I could find them large luscious sweet and fresh? And cold? I'll take them.

But I'm only talking shrimp now and not the multitude of alternatives.

Pretty sure there's never been a better accompaniment to a protein than cocktail sauce. Even steak sauce is unnecessary compared to cocktail sauce.

Deveined and not overcooked.

Other than that I like em all different ways. They can play all sorts of culinary positions; a utility player.

I like shrimp cocktail, shrimp scampi, Bbq’d shrimp, and probably several other ways.

Never really liked shrimp tempura though. Unlike most everything else, it really isn’t the best fried food

I think that’s all the ways you can cook shrimp.

This person concerned,  Easiest and best sauce for fried shrimp? Apricot jelly and cocktail sauce. If you're fancy, add in a splash of fish sauce. But it's freaking delicious.

since you asked. It's actually fantastic on slow cook pot roast. And a secret ingredient in a lot of really good bloody marys.

My favorite is a miso dipping sauce

also, close to what you listed… mae ploy with some type of tropical preserves (guava, passion fruit, mango)

Never seen anyone do that.  Cracker and hot sauce or just with nuttin'.  Must have a cold beer though.  Oysters and cold beer is like peas and carrots.

Lots of people down here in Texas do cocktail sauce on oysters, me included.

Cocktail sauce, horseradish, squeeze of lemon - down the hatch.

Went on an oyster fishing boat and ate them right of the boat. Put cocktails sauce on them and now I’m pregnant.

A dash of red wine vinegar and slurp it down. Then naked. Although I have had cocktail sauce, hot sauce. And cold beer of course.

No, in sushi.

For the record, I find a hot sauce and oysters to be bad combination. There's way too much vinegar in almost every hot sauce. Why f****** a pretty good racer with doosh smelling hot sauce?
