Strike 3,884 Posted May 23, 2022 So Friday night after work, we're hanging out and one of our cats starts acting weird. He's licking his junk which isn't abnormal for cats; they like to clean themselves. But he's getting up and running in a circle, sitting down, licking down there, rinse and repeat. Just acting weird. The GF looks and he's got what looks like a little woody hanging out. We've never seen that before. He's fixed and an indoor cat. We have a female but they've never tried getting it on or anything. He then jumps in to the litter box but can't pee. Next he starts yowling really loud. We ended up taking him to an animal hospital where he spent the weekend. Apparently cats can get a "urinary obstruction" where something like stones from the bladder or kidney basically blocks the urethra. Ugh. 2 grand later and a special diet going forward and we have him back. The end.

Pimpadeaux 2,204 Posted May 23, 2022 Yeah, we recently dropped a grand on our OG cat with stomatitis, which is a mouf infection warranting toof extraction. But dayum is she a different cat. She was sullen, disheveled and miserable, kind of like my ex-wives. Now she looks great and is a loving lap cat. Worth every penny. 1
