Depends on what part of the city you live in. If your area is let’s say 86 pct white and 3 pct black your chances of having an altercation with a black parson are real low. And the black people you are interacting with are most likely employed and good citizens. There are suburbs with more diversity than a lot of places in cities.

Kanye West has a recording studio and home in like Idaho.  Rich people from cities and urban centers make it then want to go out.  It is not a coincidence.    Yeah there are some that want the status of being in LA or NY and always will be.  But they don't hang out long and are always away.

Living in a big city for the very wealthy is a completely different t experience than it is for the rest of us. They go from car to door amd don’t do things like grocery shop. They are removed from dealing with the lunatics and the filth. I once drove Elaine Chaos ( wife of Mitch McConnell) sister. Their family owns the top shipping company in China. Multi Billionaires. Her office was directly across from Grand Central. I was assigned to her for two weeks. She had lived in NYC for years. Her assistant asked me to escort her over to Grand Central. She wanted to see the inside. She had never been in it. Horrible person BTW. My boss asked me if I wanted to drive her steady. Take home Lexus, 80k a year plus bonus and she’s out of town half the time. I said no Fockin way. Dragon lady.

You can ask yourself those questions or ask the other person who is trying to not discuss the intent of this thread which was how to deal with mental illness nuisances on public transportation in NYC not turn it into a race slap fight which avoids finding helping answer the original posters question. As you saw in the video there were plenty of black people trying to avoid the insane man. So being black is not the problem, being mentally insane is the problem and how to navigate safely around NYC is the problem. I could not live with myself if I sat idly by while a young woman was manhandled and terrorized.  I would have intervened.  I have in the past and would again.  That is who I am.  Sadly, at my advanced age it may be questionable whether my intervention would be successful.  Still, as they say, Cowards die a million times, the valiant taste of death but once.

Exactly. Its not about talking like you are a tough guy or anything, it's just like, do something. Those idiots on the train just looked on and didn't even try anything. At least rally the troops and maybe someone else with some guts would help out. I could not imagine just sitting there and just onlooking without trying something.
