Thank goodness.

Quote

GOP Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky criticized the domestic terrorism bill in a floor speech Thursday ahead of the vote.

“Today we will have a bill before us ostensibly titled and ostensibly about the subject of domestic terrorism. But this bill would be more accurately called the Democrat plan to brand and insult our police and soldiers as White supremacists and neo-Nazis – how insulting,” he said.

That’s not necessary. If the government can take down the Italian Mafia they can take down Nazi groups. Let’s go!

The first amendment doesn't support your right to tweet.  Besides, there is plenty of hate speech on twitter, facebook, 4chan, etc, so if the govt is even trying to shut down freedom of speech like you claim, they're doing a terrible job.

The feds do not spend time on this forum, yet.  On YouTube it is a different story.  The vast majority of my posts get hidden.  They are particular vigilant on conspiracy videos, Covid videos, voter fraud, LGBQT videos.   I have gotten several responses like, hey why did you delete your post.   I did not.  YouTube just hid them.   Everytime I post on a JFK video the comment immediately gets hidden.  There are at least three paid for government trolls who comment on and report posts just dedicated to protecting the official JFK lone nut theory.   All they do is parrot the Warren Report.

Now you may think it is cute that the government contracts out their censorship, but that is a clear circumvention of the Constitution.  Our first Amendment is meaningless if all the government has to do is pay someone else to do it.

I have lost complete faith in liberals who have sold their souls and beliefs in order to fight boogeyman of white supremacy.  The ACLU does not even stand up to the assault on free speech.  They have all become leftist authoritarian extremists who have no respect for individual liberty.

It is funny because it is so sad.  Why the heck does the government have the resources to monitor social media and have secret meetings with these Big Tech to censor ordinary citizens.   We have already surpassed most of the stuff out of Orwall's 1984.  It was really a blueprint for what is happening today and the modern leftist is a big cheerleader for this police authoritarian state which seeks to track everything, control all information, and censors all speech.  Just awesome.  Half of America supports this.  I really don't know what happened to this country.

Yes you have. Just because they aren't discussing Mein Kampf at the local watering hole doesn't mean they aren't there; lots of people hold onto the christian nationalist ethos but would never consider themselves to be one. They may not be a terrorist threat, but the beliefs are in place.

As Joe Rogan pointed out, "Where are all the fat people?"

They looked like a bunch of young Antifa retards being escorted around  and proped up by the FBI.  Completely phoney.

Just like Clark Kent and Superman, you never see Antifa and Patriot Front in the same room, despite Antifa always providing a counter-protest to all other right-wing organization..

To be 'aware' of how silly my posts look, one would have to have their heads  fully inserted in one's arse.  Unlike you, I do not possess that ability.  So yes, I am very self-aware of my limitations.

What in the entire world are you even talking about here?

Since the demand for "White Supremacy" clearly outstrips the practical supply, you decided to pick up the goal posts yourself and haul them to another part of the field?

For decades, DNC HQ and Team Blue HQ made the cost benefit analysis that it was pointless to invest in poor white rural Christian America. They simply didn't come out and vote enough to make it worth the lobbying, political pork and effort.

From a moral and ethical standpoint, since we are actually talking about fellow Americans, this is completely indefensible. But as for baseline political strategy in a vacuum, you can see why they did it. The last two general general cycles showed a massive turnout from poor white rural Christian America like no one has ever seen before. Whatever people think of Trump, he does and did generate massive turnout that had huge "down the ticket" impact.

The problem is not "White Supremacy", the problem is Team Blue long term buyer's remorse that they didn't even bother half heartedly to try to mobilize this voting block.

What exactly makes you and your family so special and so unique and so valuable that if Conservatives and/or Republicans and/or all poor white rural Christian America are wiped out, that you won't be next in line?

You are just spitting on the people in front of you in line to the guillotine.

Sure.  But it’s not the greatest threat we face.  And saying that isn’t defending WS. You’re an idiot if you say it is. A mindless repeater of mindless rhetoric.

While I don't disagree that the Democratic party has increasingly moved toward affluent and educated voters, I would argue that move was not a concerted effort to abandon poor white Christians. Those demographics abandoned the Democrats.

For the last 30 years at least, rural America has been bombarded by right wing news talk radio. Rush Limbaugh and his lowlife, lie- and propaganda- spewing brethren have been crusading to demonize everything and everyone that can be even tangentially related to liberalism. When I was young in the 80s, this was not the case, and many, if not most, of those dwelling in rural areas voted Democrat. I know because I lived there, amongst family farmers and good Lutheran and Methodist folks in places like Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. They talked about politics, and the Republicans and their policies were loathed. Especially Reagan.

The garbage broadcasting that turned them against the Democrats is the same garbage broadcasting (and now websites and other devoted right wing media) that has convinced you that Dems ignore those individuals. If you actually look at legislation, the American left has and will continue to DO more to help these people than the ones they vote for because of what they've been TOLD by media outlets that have essentially pounded them into submission.

Also, the bolded above is pure hate speak, perfectly emblematic of what MAGAmooks have been told to believe. It's not true, and harsh words and "mean tweets" directed at conservatives that you all love talking about as being an example of how hateful the left is are just the bill coming due for the decades of your talking heads doing the same, except on public airwaves at a national level.

I can confidently speak for the vast majority of liberals when I say we have no hate for those that vote differently,  but instead for the policies and horrific individuals you vote into office. Trump being a pitch-perfect symbol of the miasma that you, your party, and your media have created. He is the absolute antithesis of what you claim to support, and it's frustrating that you have been so hornswoggled for so long you have become incapable of seeing it.

That's your biased interpretation. I said nothing of the sort. If anything, I contend that they rejected the left based on what the right was telling them about the left, much of which was false.

If you hear the same things day after day for years, repeated ad nauseum, you will start believing them, no matter how false the claims may be. No one is immune from this. It's why you should get information from numerous sources.

I suggest you read the book “Listen  Liberal” by Thomas Frank, the author of “What’s The Matter With Kansas”.  He’s a libtard just like you.  And your notions of who abandoned who are as usual, wildly in accurate.  “They cling to their religion and guns”. But you won’t.

I think the Democratic Party abandoning organized labor and doubling down on identity politics is what lost them blue collar middle America. Neither party gives a fock about these people but the Dems have heaped scorn on them for years. I can see why Trump sticking his finger in the eye of the media and coastal elites appeals to these folks.

I've always understood why Trump is appealing.  The problem is the man. Take Trump’s rhetoric and pretend a guy that came from hardscrabble, humble beginnings says the same stuff. I'd consider voting for them. DJT makes it phony.

Trump is a charlatan. He lives in a country club and his entire admin was full of anti-labor corporate insiders and lobbyists. But the Dems made him happen when they abandoned unions and nominated Hillary over Bernie.
