Father’s Day and Juneteenth on the Same Day

Recommended Posts

It’s confusing. And almost like they want to diminish Father’s Day.

Is this why you thought Juneteenth was in December?

I never said that. Show where I did and I’ll take a week away from here.

Also, Juneteenth has been around since 1866, so your "they want to diminish Father's Day" is about as racist and ignorant as it comes.

Father's Day wasn't created until 1910, almost a half century later.

Father's Day falls on the third Sunday of June, and Juneteenth falls on the 19th.

Leave it to you to try to generate some conspiracy theory out of it. 😂

I thought there was no specific date for Juneteenth, hence the “teenth” part? Wouldn’t they just call it June 19th,or the 19th of June,  you know, like the Fourth of July?

It's also my parent's 51 Wedding anniversary.  :dunno:

Plans right now are for the stock and bond markets to close on Juneteenth this year. It’s open today.

On Nov. 11, 2021, this was your quote. Juneteenth already had occurred.

Juneteenth marks the day that Texas slaves had learned they were free. It was June 19, 1865, when they were told, two years after Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth started the next year and has been celebrated on June 19 for more than 150 years.

It has been a Texas holiday since 1980 and became a federal holiday in 2021.

Since you won't be here for the next week, this will give you time to educate yourself about it.

Oh, so I show you where you said it, and you're not leaving for a week.

And you think the date Juneteenth falls on is some kind of conspiracy to undermine Father's Day.

Your word is as useless at teets on a crawdad.

When the clock ran out on November with no Juneteenth, that left only December as the only month in which Juneteenth could occur, because you said it would happen by year's end, which it had occurred six months earlier.

It makes sense having a holiday celebrating the end of slavery and having it on Juneteenth makes the most sense.

If you want to set it for when the Emancipation Proclamation was signed... yeah, that'd be better right? ... well that's January 1st.

If you want it when the 13th Amendment was ratified, you're putting it between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

June 19th is the best day.

I think it’s because “June” ends similarly to “nine,” so Juneteenth is kinda an abbreviation for June 19th.

Kinda like the Philly slang, “Jeet yet?”

HT will be here.  She cried about it and then welched on the six month timeout (as expected) with Worms/MDC...

What make you think that she will actually stay away for a week?  You would have a better chance seeing pigs fly...

Oh man it's funny watching liberals pretend Juneteenth is some major holiday everyone celebrates. Knowing full they didn't know about it until the media decided to make it a thing.

Fock, the government will take it away from us in one way or another.

Massive taxes and calling white people racists as an agenda. I don't need those holidays.

It's been a thing since 1845. Just wasn't made a federal holiday until now.

If it had become a federal holiday under Clownzo, you'd be bragging about what a great thing he did.

It's not surprising a racist like you sees nothing to celebrate in regard to ending slavery.

Juneteenth is awesome. It celebrates when a bunch of working class white boys fought and died to right a wrong. And it wouldn’t be the last time.
