Your age and health problems

Recommended Posts

I’m 48.  Overweight.

2-3 times per year I develop a lesion inside my left nostril.  Could be herpes for all I know.

My right hip hurts off and on.

What you got?

Bunions on both feet.   Had them for as long as i can remember, never really thought about them really except I always had to buy wide shoes.   Recently(within the last couple years) those fockers have been acting up.   And the last couple times I could barely walk.  I'm 55.    Gonna have to have them cut off at some time.  Probably next year.

48. I would say well above average as far as being in shape for my age.

I get some pretty good tendinitis going in my right wrist and thumb area. Lower back tweaks quite a bit. Have a condition where I have a tumor in my knee that can flare up.

other than that man I can’t complain considering everything I’ve put my body through with sports. I’m going to get every last ounce out of this thing before I go.

And that’s the scary part. I think about in just 10 short years I’ll be 58. How freaking active am I going to be at 58? Time goes quick man.

39.  Overweight from drinking.  Lower back pain from desk job.  Lately I've been dealing with a rash on my shin but that's about it.

My wife's a pain in the ass. She's always busting my friggin' agates, my daughter's married to a jadrool loser bastard, and I got a rash so bad on my ass, I can't even sit down. But you know me. I can't complain.

44. Other than drinking to much (with a beer belly to show for it). I really can't complain.

Kinda ironic. These last 2 year's of a Covid crisis is actually the healthiest I've ever been. I haven't even gotten a head cold.

Don’t get me started! I’m 45 and medically speaking “morbidly obese” due to my glandular problem. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetic, arthritis in my knees. I’m bald, have rosacea, a rash on my butt crack and chaffing where my thighs rub together when I walk.

But at least I have no money!

34. I’d say slightly overweight mainly cause I’ve been studying so much I literally haven’t had time to do anything. Fixable though cause I’ve already started back working out since I’m doing clinical now

I’ve noticed more acid reflux myself since I turned 30. It’s not too prevalent but if I eat too much or have too much acidic stuff I’ll get it

Ugh I’d get my ass kicked if I hopped in the ring today. Been close to 10 years since I did Krav Maga/mma. Not really a place here that has one and I haven’t had time :( We plan on selling our house and moving next year to Greenville so hopefully they have something around there

South Carolina? I just looked and there seems to be a few gyms in the area.

Depends on the day. When I’m eating right and hitting the gym, I feel great. If I miss even a few days and eat and drink like a younger man  I feel like shite. You lose it fast as you get older. Been bad the last 12 days, today I get back on it and have to build back up again to where I was two weeks ago and that sucks.  On a statin. My fake teeth in the front need replacing and the elbow I broke in 1993 flairs up more frequently now then it has before. Get blood work done every three months, my numbers are on the high end but not in the danger zone. Yet.  I have to maintain or it all goes to hell.

I may have caught the ghey. Like a werewolf during a full moon. Prozac helps. So does my wife’s pudding.

I saw things heading in a bad direction in my mid-30s: near pack a day smoker and topped 200 lbs for the first time.

Quit the ciggies and go to the gym basically every day barring work or life commitments. I’m down to around 170 and generally feel pretty good.

My ailments are pretty minor. Blood pressure is a little high, I feel a little arthritic and I’ve had to get some annoying dental work done.

Overall I’ll take it. :dunno:

Thanks. My son being born was a real motivator. I see dads my age who are obese and broken down and didn’t want to end up like that.

Good luck with your continued weight loss and working out.

58 - Mostly joint problems.  Knees, ankles, feet, hips.  I don't really like the gym, but I've been forcing myself to hit the weights 3X per week at 6 am.  Been doing that for, the past 3 months, plus walking an hour every day.  Mix in a little hoops, football, and baseball to keep moving.  Hoops is by far the toughest on my knees and ankles.

I take a half a viagra every so often to stiffen that joint,  and I've been taking Allegra for seasonal allergies Aug and Sept every year since I was 40.

I still drink too much wine, and I fall asleep on the couch or in the living room chair sometimes at around 10:30-11:00. Wife says snoring is getting worse.  I guess it's especially bad during allergy season when I can't breath well through my nose.

52. Made the poosay eatin' cancer my b1tch but was gifted with some tinnitus as a side effect of the chemo.   (fock you cisplatin. )

A bit overweight but what do you expect when you're a billionaire?  Two days after doing yard work and I discover sore muscles I never knew I had.

51 y.o., 5'10" and weigh .... 165 lbs. Sounds good right? I'm 15-20 lbs overweight! Kid calls my belly "the mighty hump".  I lost most of it 6 months ago with running, push-ups/sit-ups and near starvation for a few months. Then one day I quit exercising, quit starving, went back to drinking like a fish... walla - mighty hump came back.

Screw it. Summer is almost over anyway. Time fatten up for winter.

Also have really high-blood pressure which dropped after I lost weight. It's probably high again. Who knows - who cares. I like IPA's.

Psoriasis which I got my first shot for a week ago today. Then it’s once every 3 months after that.

Blood pressure fine (when on my meds)

Planter fasciitis comes and goes. Painful when it flares up.

Contrary to popular belief when I had blood work for the said shot dermatologist said all good but liver enzymes slightly up but nothing to be concerned about. He asked me about drinking habits and I felt I should be honest so I half lied.

There might be more. I’m a mess.

42.  Had shoulder reconstructive surgery at 18.  Still have some pain from that.

Have been to the doctor for a checkup twice in the past 24 years. So I have no idea what's going on with my body.

51 - Type 2 Diabetes which is under control with meds and diet.

I'm 6'1 and weigh about 215, so I'm overweight by about 30lbs.

Need to get to the gym but I just can't seem to get motivated to do it.
