I got it on thus site when it was banned on Amazon and elsewhere, that said think you can get it most anywhere now. This is the site and the one I take.

Why was it banned?

It is a regulated prescription drug. Same reason you cannot buy other prescription drugs on Amazon without a prescription.

However, recently the FDA has decided to allow it in over the counter supplements.

Thanks.  You take it? BHB feels like he would take a lot of stuff I might not.

I do not take it. It actually has quite a few legit medical uses however none of them I need.

Technically it's a amino acid and why it's a supplement but because hospitals use it to protect liver damage from Tylenol overdose and etc the FDA tried to consider it a drug. The timing of the ban was also weird and many thought it was cause it worked to help fight Covid which it does.

It is not just used for acetaminophen poisoning, although that is certainly one use, the other major use is for help with lung issues such as collapsed lung, chronic bronchitis, and COPD.

Collapsed lung?  Stop. It breaks down secretions aiding in mobilization.

Sorry, it is not a cure for collapsed lung but from my understanding is a treatment to deal with the mucus when a collapsed lung happened?

I was typing that quickly and was just trying to point out that it has multiple real medical uses. Maybe you can explain better since you are the pulmonary specialist?
