Cordarrelle Patterson: R U Sticking With Him ?

Recommended Posts

1st game back from injury, Tyler Algiere thoroughly outperformed him on 3 less carries. CP's day was saved by 2 short TD's.

Rushing                            Rush    Yds    Avg    Long    TD
Tyler Allgeier                     10        99     9.9        44       0
Cordarrelle Patterson      13        44     3.4          7       2

Last week against the Panthers, game script prevented the Falcons from utilizing the running game as much as they'd like, but Tyler Algier once again had more carries.

Rushing                            Rush    Yds    Avg    Long    TD
Tyler Allgeier                      8         20     2.5        6         0
Cordarrelle Patterson       5         18     3.6        9         0

Is the Cinderella story over ?

I think it is, but at this point I really don't have any choice but to let it ride.

No I’m not , only own him on one team, I’m going to bench him.

He's going to continue to get 10-12 touches a game, because he's just not durable enough to get a Derrick Henry workload--but they'll be important touches, and he's on the short list of RBs likely to get 2 TDs in any given week.

It is safe to start him, everyone. I'm sitting him this week, and his point totals this season are...

When in my lineup: 4.1, 9.8, 3
When on my bench: 24.6, 24.3, 18.3

You're welcome.

I get the credit for the TD, so I’m not unpleased

Not that anyone asked, but here's the reason my league rewards return yards. After a couple years of trying, in 2005 my friends at work convinced me to play fantasy football.

I basically focked up the entire draft. 10 team (one QB) league and I had the first pick. Took Peyton Manning because the previous year, he had thrown 49 td's ?

I also drafted Brady & at least one more top-five quarterback thinking I could trade them. I'm lucky they didn't take me out behind the woodshed and kick my arse :)

Because of that, I was lacking in other areas to say the least. So I did research and started looking at kick return specialists. You have to remember that back then, teams kicked off from the 30 instead of the 35, so a lot more were returned. One of those specialist that stood out was Josh Cribbs, an absolutely fearless returner. Unfortunately, he was no good to me because that league didn't reward return yards. Not trying to start a debate here, but I've never agreed with that. Special teams, at least back then, were a big part of the game.

I learned to work the waiver wire and somehow ended up finishing 3rd. The following year (2006) I started a 10 team Yahoo league that rewarded return yards & TD's

Cribbs was incredible. He returned both punts and kicks, but was also used as a RB at times Ala Cordarrelle Patterson. A couple of those years he scored close to as many points as the top RB's
