How to stop crime in the US: A points system. Let's figure out the point value of crimes.

Recommended Posts

Laws are for those willing to follow them. The penalties in this country are slaps on wrist.

We need a system that stops crime in 2 ways. 1. Penalty would possibly be enough to deter people. 2. There'd be ZERO repeat offenders. We need a points system. Get to to 12 points you're put do death or put away til death.  Keep in mind, you get your due process of the law. Even if caught on camera, you'd get due process.

At your trial, you had a gun-type mechanism attached to your temple, that when the judge struck his gavel on the "guilty" marker, it fired a .308 round into your temple.   If he struck the "not guilty" marker it would release the gun thing from your head.  It was a quick process.

I'll start with a few.

Point values:

Murder, attempted murder, rape, child molestation = 12 points

Selling illegal drugs = 6 points

Leaving scene of accident in which death occurs = 9 points

Embezzling from employer = 1 to 4 points depending on $ value

Insurance Fraud = 2-3 points depending on $ value

Speeding = 0 points

What else ya got for points?  Any of mine you disagree with?

Speeding = 0 points

Excessive Speed: (30+ Miles Over) 1 Point

Distracted Driving: 1 Point

Distracted Driving + Speeding (30+ Miles Over) 2 Points

The Minnesota State Patrol distracted driving campaign made a teen’s behavior behind the wheel famous on Facebook.

According to a post from MSP, a trooper pulled over an 18-year-old woman who passed his squad going 96 miles per hour on Highway 169 near St. Peter.

“Selfish and dangerous are two words that come to mind after hearing about this traffic stop Friday by one of our troopers,” began the state patrol post.  “When the trooper walked up she was still video chatting on FaceTime with the friend she was going to pick up from Mankato State University.”

The state patrol reports the teen giggled and said she didn’t think her behavior was that big of a deal when the trooper tried to explain to her the dangers of distracted driving.

The woman ended up with a ticket for careless driving.

How'd you like to be in front of Michigan Judge Richard Bernstein with that whole gavel/gun thing?   He, like justice itself, is completely blind.

Perfect.  That's the entire rationale behind the points system.  Then they will be gone.

Dead criminals commit no crimes.

This sounds like something out of communist China.  No thanks

I hate China. I hate communism and socialism.

I also hate crime.  Some places have some "3-Strikes rule" -- I think in crime laden areas.  It's not working.

To me, communism is a loss of freedom.

Losing the ability to commit crimes, to me isn't a loss of freedom.  Actually, life for us good guys would become more "free" -- LESS communistic...without a bunch of sh!t heads running around doing as the please because our liberal lawmakers feel sorry for them and let them go/give slaps on the wrist.

The Bernsteins are the biggest ambulence chasers in the state and it's a crime that one of them is on the Michigan Supreme Court.
