The most annoying word that's become popular

Recommended Posts

vibe

I don't hear it in my real life world around me, but it seems to be showing up a lot.  Do younger people often talk about how his (or her) vibe was or is?

Yea, he really had a good vibe.

Holy fock, it's stupid and annoying.

Yes! I used it purposely yesterday just to be annoying.

Using the word "ask" as a noun. "What is the ask here?" "I have an ask of you"  "That's a big ask". I know it's been around for a few years now, but it still drives me nuts

That one really makes me want to punch people. It’s not just answering questions either.

So, I want to ask you a question.

The worst part is that I occasionally do it after hearing it so many times.

I'm not even sure how to spell the word, but when describing something expensive - Boo-gee. Hearing it makes me want to break faces.

UNALIVE

Unalive is a slang term used on social media as a replacement for the verb kill or other death-related terms, often in the context of suicide. Unalive is typically used as a way of circumventing social media platform rules that prohibit, remove, censor, or demonetize content that explicitly mentions killing or suicide.

my wife started using "hot minute" recently, I asked her to stop

Don't forget the close cousin to that phrase - Hot Mess. Also a punchable offense.

I hate when people use minute to mean a long while. Like if you haven't seen somebody in 6 months and then say It's been a minute.

Kind of drives me nuts.

So true. I pretty much dismiss anyone that repeats ghetto speak. Or redneck speak. Like when rednecks say In-surance like it’s two words.

I hate it when people use the word "images" in their thread title when they mean "imagine."

I mean there's a freaking edit function you know?
